I found the solution for those that downgraded and get the black screen.

Go into your SD-card (on your PC) and rename your emunand folder (Nintendo 3DS/XXXXXXXXXX) to something else.
Now start your 3ds and boot into emunand. It will recreate the folder (but without your installs). This is fine.
Take out your SD-card and go back to your PC. Move all the files from your renamed emunand folder to the one that just got created EXCEPT FOR THOSE THAT CONFLICT. DO NOT MOVE THOSE. IT WILL NOT WORK.

this guy said and menuhax wasn't working so i used browserhax and booted RXtools and it worked. i then went to reinstall menuhax and suddenly black screen all over the place.

The game needs to be up to date. The system can be out of date and it will still let you play the game online.

You can download the software updates via a spoofed eShop.

I think whats conflicting the black screen is the databases...

did something similar, full sys format in emunand, and then erase the Nintendo 3Ds folder content. I boot emunand, home menu empty, power off 3ds and get the backup i made and work like a charm

I get "preparing to start the home menu..." after updating (10.3U downgrade 9.2, then emunand -> 9.5), then black screen. I can press power button and it goes into the power off menu but I can't access the home menu.

are you by any chance using menuhax as an entrypoint to hbl to boot gateway? i had that problem when i updated my emunand and it was sysnand exploited theme for menuhax, i just changed the theme in sysnand and it kinda worked

I'm using Menuhax as an entry point to rxTools. I just changed the theme and that just uninstalls menuhax and now it just boots into sysnand :/ I can reinstall menuhax though.

After uninstalling menuhax and trying to boot to emunand with web browser exploit still same problem. Damn.

Can I wipe my emunand and update from a clean slate? How do I restore my eshop games, saves, etc.?

What's the point of being in 9.5 instead of 9.2 ? (if for games i use spoofed cia)
