So, I tried renaming it to menuhax_ropbinpayload.bin even though I have a N3ds. It flashes a few different colors on the bottom screen, but hangs when it gets to yellow. Im really glad I decided to backup the old menuhax_ropbinpayload.bin before I tried.

Took 5 tries for it to work for me once.
Seems compatibility isn't all that good (worse than v2.1 from my person experience).

But wasn't Themehax already dead on 10.2? So staying between 9.9 and 10.1, you have a dead browser too since at the moment you can't launch without update snag.
I still have 10.1 and do not plan on updating even if Nintendo forces me to update to turn on my device.

Can I use theme hax even though I never used it before .
Try... Just don't update it asked.

Nobody else is going to try for you. So only you'll find out whether or not it works.
Tutorial in the original post.

What version are you on?

Before you updated your ropbin, did your c stick work on the homebrew menu. I know I can open any homebrew app and return to hbl to fix it, but I believe this might be an issue where themehax installer installed the version for the old 3ds and not the new one. I might try downloading the old 3ds ropbin and see if that works.

Anybody still reading this thread should be trying ASAP if they haven't already.

Don't waste time asking will it work or not. Just try it yourself NOW.

Yes my "c stick" still worked.

Thanks for the offline installer! It'll be of good use until Yellows8 officially updates it. HANS doesn't seem to work on it. It did on browserhax. The only other entry point I have is Cubic Ninja. It'll probably work on that. Hopefully. lol

EDIT: Missed the line that said it installs 2.1. Hahaha Silly me.

Reading through that:
Apparently using the web browser is no longer available without upgrading (all versions that can use the browser).

Not even sure how Nintendo can patch the exploit, without forcing users to update if they want to use their 3DS web browser.
They decided to use the same tactic they did for the youtube application.
Force users to update if they want to use an app that requires the internet.

It took Nintendo so long to figure out how to do that lol.
In either case, Smea probably has to come up with a method to exploit something that doesn't require the internet (like a profile exploit).

@smea
Do you mind making a Browser Launcher that says the version on the top half of the screen?
Example: The homebrew Launcher. And then in small letters at the bottom (v2.5).

I still can't install themehax 2.5 on a N3DS

New3DS 9.5, i have installed themehax installer 2.1 with the offline installer and on my sd i now have menuhax_ropbinpayload.bin then i overwrotet the new ropbinpayload and used the original 1.2 installer and it gives me that http error. I also saved the new payload as ropbinpayload_menuhax_EUR15360_new3ds.bin but i still got http error.

STOP trying to INSTALL the themehax installer again.

You DO NOT need to install anything anymore.

All you need to do is rename your ropbin file that you downloaded and upload that into the root of your SD card.
Now what you rename it into, check the original post. If they doesn't work, then I don't know.

Be more specific.
What doesn't work?

In any case.
I'm out. I need to sleep.

I'll probably check on this thread tomorrow. But I doubt I'll reply any more.

Good luck whoever still doing it.

Final reply:

Check out that youtube video.

If you still don't get it, then I can't help you.
As that's the most basic tutorial I've ever seen. I can't say anything to make it any simpler without wasting huge chunks of my time.
Make sure to read the DESCRIPTION in that youtube video.

I've got to go to sleep now.

Good luck.

I messed up there. The offline installer installed the Ninjhax 2.1 payload. Not 2.5. Everything else is updated. I got N3DS 9.9 themehax working on 2.5. Just download the ropbin for your firmware, and rename and replace the homemenuhax bin in the root of your SD card. The tutorial on the OP is a little off for N3DS.
