Hacking [Tutorial] How to Decrypt 3DS Roms for Dummies

To do this manuly - I needed 3DSExplorer

So I open the game Ultimate NES Remix (E) (M5) / cat-bfrp.3ds with 3DSExplorer

Extracted right click save as No key / and named - ExHerder.bin / ExeFS.bin / RomFS.bin

Got the xorpads that someone kindly got for me

renamed the files exheader.xorpad / exefs_norm.xorpad / romfs.xorpad

now got padxorer.exe , open a padxorer1.bat renamed by text file added , each seprate .

padxorer ExHerder.bin exheader.xorpad
padxorer ExeFS.bin exefs_norm.xorpad
padxorer RomFS.bin romfs.xorpad

Sadly my 3DS firmware beyond doing this as its at lastest 9.x

Now I would love to do this to see how .cmd files is written .

00000001.cmd and you're generated 00000001.cmd.xorpad , sorry I need the one's from you're 3ds , Decryption should come out normal as any .

Anyone ^ ? , maybe a part of a .cmd decrypted could be in any .app / .tmd file .

That's that part that could help if found in HEX .

Would be a good help .

Hey. I have a problem and I think someone here will be able to help me. I have a decrypted room, but I don't know how to get the 3ds models out of it. Any chance anyone can give me some directions? Thanks in advance ^^

Hmm when i try running the batch files they just immediately close, i do however get a decrypted_romfs.bin file which is the same size as my xorpad file. However no files actually extract when running the second batch file. I'm using windows 7 as well with both the romfs.bin and romfs.xorpad in the workdir folder.

When it all finished, I had the decrypted folder, and inside only contained: a folder named exefs, and three bin files that are exefs, exheader, and romfs. Why didn't it output the other two folders? I made sure I just ripped the rom (OR) from my game cart, generated a new ncchinfo, made brand new xorpads, and only copied the CTR-P-ECRA0 ones, and then procedded and I left my rom name as "ECRA". What did I do wrong?

this is an older guide now, any games using 7.x encryption will have to follow they guides decrypting 7.x encrypted games, but to clarify the batch script i made just did exefs,eheader and romfs, it just ignored the update and manual partitions....but regardless you will need to follow a guide for 7.x encrypted roms to decrypt OR/AS

Do you know of any dummy proof tutorials for 7.x games? I've already looked at two different ones and I get stuck at the very end. Mainly when I try to decrypt the Romfs. I'm only decrypting it so that way I may view the game in Ohana3DS. any advice?

I was asking myself the same thing. Specifically from an extracted romfs and xorpads, without using a 3ds on exploitable firmware, which i can't since i am on the latest update
