Restart your 3DS and try again until it works. The older version is bad with handling threads...
I've done that like 5 times already. Do I need to do reboot and retry even more? And how long should I wait before rebooting?

Yes.
It should immediately start creating the xorpads.
Ok, thanks, I'll try that. Also, does trimming affect it at all?

Ok, so I'm at step 3. And I'm getting stuck at "Opening sd:/ncchinfo.bin ..." it won't move forward. I'm trying to decrypt Cave Story 3D, and I've tried it trimmed and untrimmed (the rom) and neither of themseem to work. help?
Use the untrimmed one, but dump the ncch again. For whatever reason mine took 4 times before it started working.
Nah.

Ok, thanks. After 10 ish times of trying, it's started to work! It shows the .exh.xorpad, the .exefs.xorpad, and the .romfs.xorpad. Should there be something else to wait for like the banner or something? (BTW I'm a noob if you couldn't already tell)
7. - Run the batch file 1-decrypt.bat (just double click)
8. - Run the batch file 2-extract-romfs.bat (just double click)
stuck at step 7 & 8 the .bats open & close instantly could this be because i'm using win 8.1 64bit ?
np, there is no real reason for it to be complicated, a pretty simple 4 step process with a properly made batch file......i could probably make the bat file simpler if i knew the end user would only have the one .3ds file in the folder

i managed to create the cia file but sadly i got NCCH & CIA warning errors so i think i will give it up for now & wait until someone makes a tutorial for converting .3ds to .cia![]()

It's been on the "Reading info..." screen on the 3ds for some minutes. Is it normal?

It's only normal on the old version that's packed in with this tutorial. I've had zero freezes with the latest version.
