So, with the diskWriter 1.05, no need to use the cracktool anymore?
All games are automatically patched to EEPROM = NO and saved to SD card?

No its still eeprom - yes but you shuld test IT and then write on this thread if you Use method 0 or method 3. Beacuse nobody then warnings has get IT to work. That i know

Write the games with the new template 1225 to another sd card not the one you Have the first 10 games.

People claim that about the blue button version since there isn't a better explination.

The 1.05 writer still writes games as both CARD1 and CARD2, so presumably EEPROM is still being used, at least in the red button version. However, the tool isn't (as) necessary since most of the issues seem to come from the template being buggy. warnings's Method got EEPROM to work by diagnosing issues with the template, and it appears that the Sky3DS team realized that, and cleaned it up.

Had you tested with diskwriter 1.05 ?

A bit. I don't think anyone has asked me to test any specific games since it came out. Many people are moving to the blue button version, which I can't test.

I did manage to get Resident Evil Revelations working with it, but the rom and template were both modified with Method 1.

I am still using red button, but thread has been a quite big and I'm not understanding if we even using new DiskWriter 1.05 and newest template, we still need to use some method or just write?

The methods are for workarounds and diagnostics, mostly. If you can get it to work without them, then I don't see a reason to use them (unless you want to).

An imprtant thing to note about the red button version: Even with everything else working fine, you will probably still have to hold the button down to get it to stop scrolling past any game that wasn't one of the first 10 roms used on it. As soon as it shows up on the home screen and before the light starts blinking is the window of opportunity. If done correctly, the light will continuously strobe on and off, and the game should boot, play, and save fine.

The newest writer and template seem to have a lot of bug fixes, so it should work with either red or blue button versions without too much trouble.

I think holding the red button does more than just stop the scrolling. You'll notice SD's with only auto-scroll, cycle games much faster than with push button scroll (test it you should clearly notice) I think holding the red button gives it the extra time needed to mount the rom and load the .sav to eeprom.

To me, it appeared to scroll at the same speed through 10+ games, but the original 10 scroll a lot slower, and the blinking patterns are different. This might be loading EEPROM, as simply mounting the rom on it's own seems to be much faster.

As far as doing more than stop scrolling: I think it just causes an error, honestly. When I'm impatient, I will immediately mash A as soon as I start to hold the button, and the game and save load while I'm holding it down, making it slightly laggy when it first loads. It seems like the whole strobe on and off thing is just it's way of saying "ERROR, cannot scroll past this rom", which is fine for my needs.

Thats what I mean, the original 10 (the ones you have to push the button for) cycle slower. On some 10+ games if I push the A button too soon It will "card cannot be read" or "card has been ejected". But if I give it the full 5 seconds no issues.

Also johnbus, On the SD with 10+ games...does it say "There is nothing inserted in game slot" between the games as they appear on the home menu?

That seems odd since I can't press the A button too soon with my setup. It may have a slight lag spike, but otherwise works fine as soon as I start to hold the (red) button.

The only time I get a "card has been removed" error is if I'm too slow with the (red) button. As long as I catch the window of opportunity, I don't have any issues. If I'm late with it, and the light turns on before I hold it down, it starts to eject, and it doesn't matter if I hold it at that point since it'll be unmounted before I can play it. I have to eject or turn off the system if I hold it at the wrong point.

Could it be a nuance difference between official Sky3DS and it's clones? I don't know since I can't test what I down own.

Sorry, I had to switch to Windows to burn a game.

Yes, but I'm fairly certain it always says that since it pretends to remove the 'game' before mounting the next one. I hold the button the instant it says the game's name, though, so my brain ignores it for the most part since it isn't what I'm looking for.

ALSO: I just booted AC:NL REALLY fast. I held down the button, and pressed A immediately, and I was able to skip the jingle! I don't even think that's possible with my physical copy of the game... Although, it had a split second of lag.

i have the red one. Do i have to make my first sd only with the ten first games, and the other ones in the next sd?
is neccessary to have epprom NO?
Do i have to follow method 3 to write second sd ?, or is not necesary with the new diskwriter?
Thanks for everything

Burn down the first ten games "the games you play often " then burn the SD card 2 games with the newest writer and template. Then use "the thing" to play your SD card 2 games

Then tell me if its working for you :)

If its not working use method 1

For the first SD mentioned by emil, it doesn't matter if you do eeprom no or eeprom yes. just make sure it's the 10 games you definately want to not have any save issues or any issues for that matter. Then after you burn 10 games on your first SD, any remaining games you would like to play should be burned on a new "second" SD.
