Still a work in Progress, my first tutorial

Transferring your saves between backup launcher theta and Xi
A guide for Experienced Noobs
Programs you will need

Hex Editor Neo - http://hhd.df.ru/Download/free-hex-editor-neo.exe

Wii Apps you will need

GCMM - http://wiibrew.org/wiki/GCMM
EDIT:Only 3rd party Memory Cards

Step by Step instructions
1. Using GCMM Backup your Theta save to your SD card and save it somewhere on your computer.

2. Delete the save off of your Wii after it is backed up.

3. Install and start up Xi and play your game, creating a new save.

4. Then once the save has been created leave the game, and back it up.

5. Now here is where we use Hex editor, open Hex editor and open the theta save, and the Xi save both in separate windows.

6. Now you must change the start of the save file of the original save for example in ToS replacing-

00000000:00 00 00 00 00 00 ff 02 54 4f 53 5f 30 30 30 00 ......ÿ.TOS_000.
00000010:00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
00000020:00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 06 c9 00 00 00 40 ...........É...@
00000030:00 02 00 03 00 00 00 20 00 03 ff ff 00 00 00 00 ....... ..ÿÿ...

With this from the new one

00000000:47 51 53 46 41 46 ff 02 54 4f 53 5f 30 30 30 00 GQSFAFÿ.TOS_000.
00000010:00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
00000020:00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 97 00 00 00 40 ...........—...@
00000030:00 02 00 03 00 00 00 20 00 03 ff ff 00 00 00 00 ....... ..ÿÿ...

And then simply load the old one back onto your wii and play.
Thanks goes to Montacer for a lot of help wrapping my head around the concept.

Must be updated once I look at some more game files. If you cant do it send me the save via PM and I will try.

I have two questions about this:
1. I read somewhere that the filenames are wrong in theta. If both savegame files (theta and Xi) have different filenames, do i have to change the filename too?
2. How many bytes have to be replaced exactly?

Xi has the correct filename, so any new saves created with that will have the correct filename that you should change to. Its also the same savefile name as if a retail gamecube game would make.

Experienced noobs?
Is that even possible?
There are total noobs like here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=136800 (I'm only talking about the Topic starter and you have to read the whole first page or more to understand why I call him a total noob

)
But there are also noobs who want to learn or already learned a bit

I started as a noob but didn't ask stupid questions so nobody saw that I was a complete noob

What does only work on 3rd party cards exactly? I read that some people have problems with them, but what for problems? I copied my Original MP4 savegame from Bigben to nintendo card, left both cards in the wii, started MP4 from Multidisc and it detects both cards with the same savegame.

Luckily I hadn't started playing any of my backups yet.

Though the fact that it doesn't work with nintendo mem cards should be mentioned.

Luckily 3rd party memory cards are not that expensive.

Wait, it doesn't work with official Nintendo memory cards? Then how was I able to rename and transfer saves with a 251 Nintendo memory card in GCMM? (I didn't notice any problems in the process, it all worked perfect)
Edit: Oh wait, it "works" but I see why it's not "supported."

I downloaded the GCMM and put it on my SD card, but when I loaded it in the Homebrew Channel, it didn't show any of my save files. What am I doing wrong?
