Hacking TTi Upgrade Revolution

Has anybody else noticed this one on DX: TTi Upgrade Revolution

The item page mentions a webpage at http://www.nds-tti.com which has what purports to be a version 1.18 firmware. Interestingly, the firmware did not work on my real DSTT (non-i), giving two white screens instead of the DSTT menu. Running TTextract from YSMENU did produce a working TTPATCH.dat file which, while larger than the one from 1.17, did not seem to improve compatibility under YSmenu.

Out of curiousity, do any of the experts in this group recognize the version of the official FW they based this on? Also, anybody have any better luck getting it to work with a real DSTT?

The blue TTDS is a fake. A horrible, poorly made, fake.

Often clones steal the official firmware and increase the firmware number to make it look as though they have more recent firmware (and often to make it look as though THEY are the original manufacturers rather than a clone). I would be willing to bet that the firmware you linked to is either an exact copy of or is based on the official 1.17 firmware.
