Emulation Trying to get .savs to work with Mac VBA and Mac No$GBA

I have my Pokemon games that I have backed up with Rudolph's GBA Backup Tool and I am trying to load them on my computer emulators. I have a Mac and I have been using VBA and No$GBA, which I am aware is only working through Wine. I put my .sav in the battery saves folder, but it doesn't load. In VBA for Mac, you need to press the function key and F1 for save state 1, F2 for save state 2, etc. Someone suggested to use shunnywebs sav converter, but that hasn't worked for me either =/

There is usually something along the lines of file-> import -> battery file. Shuny's stuff is only for the DS.

Similarly once you get it in one and are playing with savestates then http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/416/ might be of use.

try checking your save type and settings in VBA.
