So, now is the joycon strap d2 instead d3?

I've flashed the new SWITCHBOOT bootloader an the 9.1 beta for RCM-X86 and is still working with joycon strap on d3... Sould I have to change it?

to my experience the issue with this chip happens if you use both straps, just one doesn't have any weird behaviour

If it's working for you, carry on! Update your firmware as necessary. It's only bootloader that's different

Ok, thanks.

I've changed the d3 to d2 and it's still working (I had the las bootlader flashed)...

Maybe your last bootloader needs to be checked because d3 acts as joyconstrap (output) and payload selector (input).

payload increase is D3, mode select is D4 with latest 0.9.1

OK, but as I said, the joyconstrap on D3 works with that 0.9.1... So I'm a bit confused because it should be an input pin and acts as an output signal.

D2 and D3 do same results as a joycon strap, is this normal?

Thanks for your replies.

It shouldn`t. However, D3 goes to GND on a hard reset. So... If you would do an experiment for me... See if the payload increase works. Short d3 to GND.

I`m doing it blind you see. I don`t have an RCMX86.

Great to see this update, as I'm looking at finally doing this. Of the mod chips, it seems like the trinket m0 is the most popular. Is that what you'd recommend? Also, if I'm fine with using AutoRCM, is there a reason to not just do the simpler 4-wire method? Does it drain power at all?

Thanks for all the work you're doing to help people!

No. 4 wire is fine. Just remember you are stuck with autoRCM if you don`t solder at least one strap.

The bootloaders in the OP are wrote for this purpose, so autoRCM isn`t required. I personally use autoRCM. But if you have both straps soldered and you use the both_straps.uf2 bootloaders, you don`t need to.

Okay, thanks. I'm fine with AutoRCM and have no interest in using stock firmware again. And is the trinket m0 what you use, or would you recommend another one? Is it worth hunting down the Switchme for a slightly easier time soldering?

Get a switchme if you can. Just for ease of soldering.

But the trinket and switchme are electrically identical. The software is interchangeable. Whichever you have available to you.

I'm curious if anyone has tried to install a modchip/dongle inside the dock and used auto rcm? I know some people that do not use their switch in portable mode & thought this would be a good idea for them.

The files don't seem to be up.

Also I installed my trinket m0 from the older "sam fusee launcher" method where the battery line is hooked up also pin 4, do i have to rewire it to work correctly with this newer process?

Yes. Links being updated as we speak. My git was a right mess.

EDIT: Links up for the OP of this thread.
