Hacking Tried to upgrade SD card but didn't realise I couldn't just copy files straight over

when i try to install games with CIAngel i get the errors

"The CETK signature would not be recognised"
"The TMD signature would not be recognised"
"Could not install CIA"

Another strange thing is that when I try to install game cias through FBI some of the games I had previously installed before all these shennanigans arent even being recognised as cia files. Like they only have a name/attribute:archive/size (no title ID/version/region/installed size) and when I highlight them in the menu there is no option to install the cia, just to delete/rename/copy/paste


I went to the eshop and exited before I last tested an install. Also navigated through system settings to the software menu and it shows my FBI/hbl/luma etc correctly. when I navigate through the card on my computer the import.db and title.db are present and appear to be working as far as I can tell.

Check Luma3DS settings (hold select when starting up the console), if Developer Options is set to UNITINFO try setting it back to OFF. Retry CIA installers.

Sounds like you could have a fake card. Test the card with h2testw. https://www.heise.de/download/product/h2testw-50539 (Just click on download)
Make sure to let the test finish, it will take a while. If you think it's taking too long, you can use FakeFlashTest instead, it's faster but will destroy the contents of your SD card so back them up first.

developer features in luma settings were already set to off


i'm pretty sure my card is legit as i bought it from a reputable store at the mall, but i'll run the test just in case. its super late here so i need to sleep anyway so may as well run the test in the mean time

welp. i did fakeflashtest while i slept and you got it, something messed with the new card. im going to be taking it back for a refund today lol

Allways copy instead of moving whenever you work with removable drives (even removable hard drives).

in fact.. even when working with multiple internal drivers, its better to copy and then delete then just move files.

should be something related to the tickets? this happened to me yesterday. I accidentally restored all tickets (including the CDN ones) and after that was unable to update any cart games or install CIA games. Formatting the system memory(with SD card out) or even formatting the SD card is useless. Only solution found working was to do a Sysnand restore

so L M A O it was totally the new sd card that was broken.

after some tedious exchanges with the store i bought it from I was able to swap it for a new card and now everything works perfect.

god i feel like a huge weight is off my shoulders now lol. thanks so much to everyone who posted here trying to help me out. i wouldn't have been able to solve this problem without all your help!
