Hacking transferring saves to EZflash IV

Hi, I recently bought a EZflash IV and I am having trouble transferring a save file (from Kingdom Hearts: chain of memories if that matters) to it from my old combination of acekard 2 + ezflash 3 in 1.

I used the loader program to transfer the game over, and then manually renamed my old save to be identical (I copied and pasted the name, so it is identical) to the one that was created by the loader and then replaced that one with my old save. I then loaded the game into NOR and clicked play, but the only option it gives me is "new game".

does anyone know how to fix this? is some sort of conversion required?
