How to export .sav file from pc to ezflash omega?

I've tried numerous times to transfer my pokemon red.sav file from my laptop to ezflash omega sav folder but everytime I boot up pokemon red on my ezflash omega cartridge it always restarts and says "writing" at the bottom and gives me a game with no save file. I've transferred .sav files from my other pokemon games from my laptop to my ezflash omega sav folder but pokemon red is the only game I have an issue with. Someone please help.
