I have tplconv and I'm trying to mess around with some files but it's in spanish and I can't read the buttons. Anyone have an english version of this tool?

You don't want tplconv, I think that only creates png's. You need tplx and Texconv.
However there is a program called ASH that can do it pretty much all for you.
(Though you still need Texconv and ntcompress from the Revolution SDK)

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
