people were asking for awoo without the bullshit and the anti-sx stuff... and we have a fork of it now
Then just fork it properly (i.e. fork it in github, rather than making a separate repo and uploading it all as your own) and keep the name. All he did was change like 4 lines of code, making an entirely new repo and changing the name is clear attention whoring.
That's the license for the original tinfoil that is present in awoo's code, doesn't attribute any of the work for awoo.
I’ve

I’ve wanted a version of awoo that works on SX for ages. Stop talking out of your ass.
There's literally one line of code you needed to comment out to compile it yourself, since unlike DZ it's all open source so you can remove the dumb pointless bullshit. It comes off as incredibly petty for someone who puts way more invasive DRM in his closed source software to make renamed forks of other people's installers to make incredibly minor changes.
grrr im so mad! this guy that has coding skills did a thing that i can't do and it's something that i or other people wanted
haters gonna hate.
It doesn't take coding skills to comment out one line of code and type "make".

https://github.com/Huntereb/Awoo-Installer was mostly developed by Hunterb & Behemoth using parts of original tinfoil (which is what that license file is for), neither of them are credited anywhere.

you are incorrect, most code in awoo was written by adubbz, xortroll, and myself.

awoo is really just glue that holds other people’s projects together.

My fork includes all license files and retained all copyright headers from the original repo.

if your complaint is that I did not suck his dick, you are correct, but that is not a gpl violation.

you posted a lot of garbage, my fork is a legal fork, none of the crap you said is required.

The reason I didn’t do a real fork from github was because a) its furry shit and I don’t want that associated with my account. B) his repo has stuff on it that is likely against github’s tos and I’m not trying to get my account suspended again.

I have 0 I repeat 0 knowledge or interest in compiling or editing code to make homebrew myself. I wait for people more talented and smarter at it then me to do it. Now I can use this homebrew on my sxos switch. Ya get it? Stop being mad.

If you wanted something for "ages"... why have you never posted a single time in the thread for awoo? If you're too lazy to build it yourself I guarantee someone would've built it for you "ages" ago. I have no problem with someone making a custom build of awoo that gets rid of the SX code, or that removes the touhou shit. It's the petty attention whoring way it's done that I have a problem with. This isn't significant enough for anyone to genuinely call it a "release".

Thank you, really. I did not realize I forked it.

Because I had other alternatives that worked and don’t like to bother people if it’s unnecessary. I wanted it but didn’t need it. Understand? This release doesn’t hurt anyone and only benefits people. You just want to whinge and hate on blawar

Still does not meet the requirements of section 4
https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html#section4
"provided that you conspicuously and appropriately publish on each copy an appropriate copyright notice"

All copyright notices are intact and distributed with the source. What else ya got?

https://github.com/Huntereb/Awoo-Installer/blob/master/LICENSE
https://github.com/Huntereb/Awoo-Installer/blob/master/Tinfoil.LICENSE

https://github.com/blawar/tinleaf/blob/master/LICENSE
https://github.com/blawar/tinleaf/blob/master/Tinfoil.LICENSE

I do not see any other copyright notices in awoo's repo.

Lack of an appropriate copyright notice on the original work does not excuse not having one in a derivative. You're responsible for creating one.

There isnt a lack of a copyright notice, its right here:

https://github.com/blawar/tinleaf/blob/master/LICENSE
https://github.com/blawar/tinleaf/blob/master/Tinfoil.LICENSE

You are conflating copyright notices with credit. With that, I will not be responding to you further since I do not believe you are entering the debate in good faith. Enjoy your furry-free software :)

All those blawar's fans praises him when he releases yet another fork of an installer just to mock devs he don't like or have personal issues with, this is like the 3rd time he does this, yet I'm sure the 99% of those fans only use DZ and/or its hbg shop skin. Congrats @blawar, you made a religious sect of pirates around you :)
