My first bike was your Suzuki's grandpa, early 80's GS125. Only had it a few months before I went to live in Japan for two years. While there I had a Yamaha FZR400 and a RZV500R (kinda rare 2-stroke V-4 GP replica). When I came back to the States and went back to school, I bought an '81 Honda CB900F. Kept that bike for about 6 years and haven't owned one since. : (

I lost a box of old photos (pre-digital) in a move years ago and now the only one I have any pics of is the RZV.

Off-topic guys, I haven't owned this bike for almost 30 years. But I did once and it was glorious fun. Took it up to 220kph once on the Sanyo Expressway. I was a crazy mofo once upon a time.

I had been meaning to get one for a while but the video which pushed me in question had a dodgy usb battery charger where the polarity had been swapped:


It came in handy the other after a family member was having issues charging a device, turned out 3/4 of their cables were broken.

I’m interested to know this works for you. I have Tektro hydraulic brakes too. How often do you bleed your brakes? I’ve had my bike for almost 2 years now. Probably rode ~1000 miles.

For this set of brakes, this is the first time. Brakes are 19 months old and have about 2700 miles on them. IIRC recommended is at least once every 2 years, but depends on the riding type and how often you are on the brakes.

I'm lazy though, I just do mine whenever they start to feel shit (spongy, lacking power etc).

This set was still feeling pretty good, only doing it as I accidentally squeezed the lever too much when there were no brake pads in and one of the pistons fell out and let out some of the oil.

I don't forsee any issues with bleeding them, but I'll update when I'm done.

as a motorcycle enthusiast, the only advice I can give you is what the brake liquid is an organic substance so you must change it not for millage but time, normally it doesn't get bad because the use but the time, the liquid trend to become rotten after 1 or 2 years after you open the original package, and some of this liquids are re-bottled so the time could be less.

Tektro, Shimano and some others (can't remember who), use mineral oil, rather than dot like others (and cars and motorbikes). Mineral oil apparently can sit indefinitly without issue (or so they claim).

I think 1-2 years might just be a generic recommendation for bikes (most use dot fluid, only a few outliers use mineral). Shimano's docs (mineral oil) apparently say only needs to change when the fluid is discolured.

All my brakes are mineral oil (not a fan of dot for bicycles, miss any in clean up, it eats the paint), so I just go with change it when it feels bad

Kit works fine. Doesn't come with a bleed block for putting between the pistons, so if you don't already have one, you'll need one (I already had one), Oil is probably enough to do both, as long as you don't make any mistakes.

Does the job and at least here, it's the cheapest way to get the bleed screws that are needed.

Nice, thank you for sharing. I bought this kit a while ago and should use it. I’ve only replaced the brake pads so far. I don’t know what freshly bled brakes feel like, but you are reminding me that I should really do this. I have an ebike, so I should pay closer attention to my brakes.

Ups randomly delayed my package of Gunpla so it coming tomorrow.

Ordered a 65ft cat7 cable. Finally going wired in my bedroom. So I also order a 8 port tp-link gigabit switch. Off the top of my head I think I only need 4(probably only 3)currently but I'll get 8 for future devices that I might get, plus the 8 port vs 5 port is literally $3 more
