Hmm restoring a Famicom ?
I knew someone would recognise them eventually B-)
This pair is actually going to replace the clone PAL chips in a Coolbaby X7 handheld, to give it NTSC speed and original accuracy.
If I can get another pair I might put them in my Famicom, as an upgrade from the revision E chips it came with, so it can use save states better with my (clone) everdrive (you can't read the OAM palette etc on revision E or earlier, so using save states trashes the display, and I can only use it at points when the screen/palette is about to be fully refreshed, which isn't helpful for a lot of games)

Bought Prince of Persia Warrior Within OG Xbox disc to play on my One X and it's not compatible, oh well, I'll just boot up my hacked PS4 Pro when I want to play it then.

I assumed PoP:WW having been a very popular game it would have been BC... Nope.

I admire your patience. At this point in my life i have fully surrender to emulation :ha::ha:

FXPAK "clone" from Aliexpress. I say clone as the firmware is open source, the board was open source till rev f, is it really a clone if you take board and update it or make your own board based on it? Who knows, but it seems to be a big argument elsewhere, I don't give a shit, I'm not paying £180 (potentially over £200 if it gets done for VAT and Duty) for something I will infrequently use.

Anyway this is a rev z from a seller I saw recommended on reddit with the Cyclone IV fpga. Rev Z does seem to incorporate the latest fixes. Don't take my word for it, but it does appear to have the 1chip fix (extra inductor connected to the same pin as the diy fix) and seemed fine on my 1chip and MSU 1 audio seemed fine.

Everything seems to be working fine, tested all the enhancement games + the MSU1 game they give. Only negative would be it came with a duff 2032, I've had bad ones of them right out the packet as well, so not a big deal. Quick change was needed, did have a little blob of hot glue on the battery, I guess to stop it coming loose during shipping, annoying, but not a massive issue when changing it.

That weird pattern on the mini is just a light reflection, it's not damage, it's still in pretty good condition.

Also the joys of near 30 year old hardware. Testing with original carts to start with, no power at all. Then got power, but black screen, cleaned the carts, then was good, but the controller wasn't working, so I had to grab another controller, then I was finally ready to test the Aliexpress cart.

Ive never had one before. What are they like?
The red ones are mild, refreshing, very light taste. Most similar to a water melon perhaps, but very mild.

The yellow ones are very sweet and floral, it's a bit like nectar from a honeysuckle.
