Gaming The Risk of Rain IP by Hopoo Games has been acquired by Gearbox

If anyone is familiar with the rougelike, it seems Gearbox has acquired the IP from Hopoo, which in turn is staying independent and going to move on to another project.

I'm just hoping no harm comes to the first two if they try and cram practices like microtransactions or shops into the game. The game has a mastery skins system and I could see a bigger company trying to ride the hype train every other game is doing rather than keeping it traditional where you have to work for the extra content.

The first The Risk of Rain game was fun. but idk why Gearbox brought this and didn't just create an clone and why did Hopoo selling its crown jewel. very odd imo.
