You don't HAVE to buy another redesign of the same thing.

PSP is on 3000 line as well, but I still don't want to get 2000/3000 because my 1000 is working so perfectly fine. There's really no merit (what, like you spend 6 hours outside playing PSP?) to switching over personally.

Honestly, I think that Nintendo would make more money if the DSi supported flashcarts.
Why?
All the flashcart users have a DS Phat or DSL. If they are pirates, they aren't going to buy new games. If the DSi doesn't support flashcarts, they won't get that either. If it did support flashcarts, they would atleast make hardware sales.
The only flipside to that is that non-flashcart users will notice the DSi, buy it, and then get into flashcarts, and start using them on the DSi.

WRONG. there's a much greater profit to be earned sellin software vs hardware. it's always been like that, and will always be. though, that's not to say nintendo didn't make a shitload sellin the ds, because it does print money afterall.

i agree with the op that the dsi is a scam, and a poor excuse of an upgrade. but get over it. we both have dsl and flashkarts. continue using em, and wait for the "ds2". bitchin about it will not make a difference.

Well im going to get a DSi purely because my Phat is completly out dated and the screen is scratched. I think Nintendo and Playstation are playing it smart plain in simple.
