When I first started playing GTA for the DS I thought it was crap.
After playing after awhile I got used to the controls and the graphics.
In the end it was a great game

but a little hard to get used to in the beginning.

Yeah, GTA Chinatown Wars is far from Underrated. If anything, it was overhyped pre-release hence the backlash.

It's a serviceable 2D GTA in the tradition of the first few games. However graphics aren't what messed it up. It was lack of voice acting, an almost tedious amount of use of touch screen simply for touch screen sake, and other glitches that should have been fixed prior to release.

As it stands, it's almost like a weird mix of GTA 2 and WarioWare, without the GTA feeling because it doesn't have any of its humor on the radio stations and jokes in cutscenes don't hit the same notes if you have to read them.

yeah gta was so overrated they could have done it like the upcoming "cops", luminous arc was not that underrated it was more like niche market (some of my friends thinks "anime style graphic = bad", i think anime style graphic = nice), lunar knights was not that bad well except for the weather system (so i had to wait for an hour because i miss one wind?) but maybe that's because i play every kind of rpg

Oh my god, I can't believe nobody has said Trioncube yet!
It's a small, humorous, and charming puzzle game that nobody seems to know about.
It's pretty easy to learn how to play and can last for a very long time with all it's unlockable content and different modes.

Trioncube was one of the games on the first page that were unfortunately deleted.

I love Trioncube! It's a fun puzzler with some great and weird interludes with Satan telling you he loves peanuts more than jelly beans or whether he enjoys swim suits over wet suits.

Plus, it's so good Bob's Game ripped it the hell off for his Tetrid game in his crap demo, except he took Trioncube and tried to force it into Tetris' rules, which does NOT work with Trion's piece shapes.

As I often do when I'm bored with whatever games are currently available, I go back to check out games from the past. I remember checking this out when I first got my card a couple of years back, but I didn't really give it much of a chance simply because there was so much else to fool with at the time. But I went back to Chicken Little last night, and man, this game ain't too bad. It's not quite an "essential" DS game, but it's a pretty entertaining SHMUP. The controls for on-foot missions take a little getting used to, but it's a tight shooter. I'm sure it didn't garner rave reviews, and I doubt many Tempers took the time to check it out, but it's worth a go if you're dry from the summer drought.

Well, I'm in complete agreement with you regarding Avalon Code. It really was sad to see so many critics not "get" the game. Sure, it can become a mess in terms of keeping track of all the codes and where you put them, but really, it's nothing close to a game breaker; it's an annoyance at worst. The game is certainly quirky and off the beaten path, but what it sets out to do, it does remarkably well. I hope to see it become a cult classic.

Roogoo Attack is rather underrated. It got some mediocore reviews but it's a damn entertaining game.

As for Avalon Code, they had a good team behind it (Xseed, who did Little King's Story, Riz Zoawd, which may be debatable but is no doubt a visual and innovative masterpiece, Ragnorak, which I didn't like myself), and while it didn't get great reviews, it got some decent reviews from IGN (8.3) and Nintendo Power (8.5). I still need to try it myself.
