It is an awesome show.

I hope the film does it justice, most sitcom to film end up bad to meh.

Film? You got to be joking me
Nope BBC Films will be financing it. They won't be starting it until the tour is finished.

The singer from The Charlatans is said to be Old Greg's wife.

I grabbed it for my sister and watched a couple of episodes, found it the most boring comedy ever (even worse than Al Murray's Time Gentlemen Please).

Whats this show about? I've heard the name many times before... well, namely after most of the episodes of Coupling i have on my puter. They say "Up next, The Mighty Boosh!" So i know the name... just not ANYTHING about the show.

shame.

Not directed specifically at you but I would like to think I understand british humour or at least can appreciate some of it (I have the full collection of Red Dwarf, Black Books and Black Adder as well as a whole host of other things: as in I specifically went and paid actual money for the DVDs as they came out and watched them on TV) yet I do not get this show at all.
Then again I thought the IT crowd was boring so it probably falls in that category.

@WildWon it is a sketch show (stage, concert, radio, TV and now "film") with each series being set in a not bizarre as such universe but warped none the less.
TV wise it was a Zoo, a flat with band trying to make it and a second hand shop. Each show was mainly sketches with a theme for a show and series long one.

I've seen the first season - Is the humor inherently British? Because I don't really get why this show is so raved about. I'm not saying it's not funny because it is but I don't see what all the hype is about.

The radio show is the best, people should listen to that if they don't get the shows.
Although the first series does take lots of nuggets from the radio show and when I saw them live it was basically the radio show recycled into a stage show, still awesome though.

Well, methinks i'll have to watch out for this one. I'm a fan of finding out whatever i can about British TV/Films/Entertainment.

Recently, Coupling/Spaced/DrWho have been the major shows i've been catching. I want to see Asylum and The Office. There another one that i can't remember the name off the top of my head. It stars the gentleman that played Vulva in episode 3 (i think) of Spaced. Also caught a little Peep Show which i want to see more, especially after seeing Magicians (thats the same guys...right?)

Death At a Funeral and From London To Brighton were both decent in their own rights.

Any other recommendations for an American interested in some good Brit shows?

(or would this question be considered a bit too "off topic" for here?)
