I like the idea of this, but I'm not liking these "issues". Its in development, so you have to expect it, but I think Im going to hold off on this until the project is a bit more stable and organized.
Edit: Be careful with some themes. For some reason whenever i change themes, MenuDO hits a black screen while loading the application or games menu and crashes. Has happened on 3 of the 7 or so themes Ive tested.
Then why are they posted on the MenuDO site as working themes?Tsuna_fish said:gumbyx84 said:Good. At least its not just me.

thats because the theme itself is too memory intensive for menudo

Name the themes that aren't working properly and I'll mark them as unstable.gumbyx84 said:Then why are they posted on the MenuDO site as working themes?Tsuna_fish said:gumbyx84 said:Good. At least its not just me.

These are the ones that have done it multiple times for me:Usually happens after I've changed themes. Only thing in common between the two themes is that they have animated backgrounds, which could be causing the memory usage issues.

No the theme seems to work fine after a hard reset of DSi. Problem doesn't seem to happen until theme is changed. Might be a problem with the old theme not being removed from memory completely.SoulAnger said:When you rebooted the app does it still hang? I recall the themes freezing

It's likely that, but I wouldn't call them unstable if they work 100% after rebooting the DS. Just choose a theme and stick with it instead of switching between them all the time. I use MENUdo Virtue all the time and it's never frozen up on me... it may also be because of your SD card.gumbyx84 said:No the theme seems to work fine after a hard reset of DSi. I said it doesn't seem to happen after rebooting. Doesn't mean it won't. Even if it doesn't happen after reboot, that doesn't mean it is not a bug. If not with the theme, then MenuDO itself. It should not be overlooked.Skyline969 said:It's likely that, but I wouldn't call them unstable if they work 100% after rebooting the DS. And for me: Class 4 unmarked card. Works fine for me. I think it's your card. Even if the theme does freeze sometimes, I wouldn't call it completely unstable to the point that it's unusable. Sure, MENUdo is not stable in itself, regardless of the theme, but keep in mind it was never finished 100%. Now let me explain, MENUdo is stable enough for every day use, but it does have its share of crashes and hangs at random times. That's C programming for you... it's serious business.gumbyx84 said:I said it doesn't seem to happen after rebooting. Doesn't mean it won't. As for my SD Card: Its a Class 6 Trencend which has had no issues with games or homebrew before. Not saying it has nothing to do with it, but pointing out that I have never had issues with the card before with other homebrew apps.

It happens when it loads the icons for the ROMs. Im assuming its normal.Skyline969 said:Anyone else find black lines appearing when scrolling through list of games?gumbyx84 said:Yes I am a programmer I know C (and any language for that matter) is "serious business". That and the fact that its "stable enough" doesn't mean the bug is not a problem. I know this is homebrew but "good enough" is a poor excuse. You have two people who have had this issue. I'd file a bug report but no one has given us a way to do so besides posting here, which is what I did.Skyline969 said:And for me: Class 4 unmarked card. Works fine for me. I think it's your card. Bugs I've found:All Im saying is maybe give people a heads up that they might run into a problem like these. Is that really so hard? Heck would be nice to include a readme for the dang thing so people know the file hierarchy to get the danged thing to work. I had no idea why it wouldn't recognize any of my ROMS and had to ask for help here. Thankfully another user knew what to do or I would still be trying to figure it out.
- MenuDO will crash randomly when opening application or Games folder.
- If there are no ROMs in the Applications or Games directories or if said directories don't't exist and you open "Unosrted" folder, MenuDO will crash.
- Using AKAIO, MenuDO will not launch homebrew ROMs such as LameBoy and nesDS (Two people have reported this)
