The NES (and the SNES) was specifically built with expansion in mind. The hardware inside NES didn't change, but the one in the carts did.

I'm please to say I didn't change in this regard and still enjoy (S)NES as I did in childhood.

That's kinda not the point.. it's about technical advancement in regards to not only graphics/visuals, but gameplay mechanics, gameplay variety, to even the abundance of checkpoints and difficulty options..

It's fucking HOT outside, fuck.
But that's like the whole summer 🤷🏻‍♂️

And I still disagree with these kinds of statements. The NES didn't change. Neither did I.
Much of what is praised as advancement is a huge step backwards for me. Availability of new options (games) is fine. It does NOT make older games look worse (neither from the point of graphics nor gameplay)

But I'll stop here. Made the same mistake again: Commenting into these threads while being against the more or less consensus. Might as well earn a stupid "Old man yells at cloud" at this point or getting told again that I don't post pictures on my own (while others may happily discuss).

That's not what's implying either.. It's more like they're just simplistic by today's standards, doesn't make them unplayable or unapproachable. the point is modern games -well from ~PS2/360 era and on- offer more variety in many aspects from a game design perspective. Either you like, dislike or if don't play modern at all (lack of interest?) is up to the individual. And you don't have to follow any modern general concensus, if there's one at all that is.

Please don't take it the wrong way, you're free to say whatever and voice your thoughts/beliefs freely (the same as me or anyone for that, while respecting the guidelines of course). No one is judging your stance in this (or beliefs), and i certainly wasn't trying to correct you or convert you regarding this matter.. hell, i don't care about any of this, i was just trying to clarify what the pic was referring to in general.
You didn't make any mistake, and you're NOT obligated to post any pics/memes. Feel free to comment/reply to any post you like.
Cheers! :)

Ah yes, posting the keys to your house for all to see is such a good idea.

I live in a "temperate" climate, it shouldn't be like that :glare:

No but seriously, we've had hotter days around here, weeks even, but this heat wave hits different.
The alias of my city is "the city of the eternal spring" but today with a hidden sun we have 39°C at shadow!!!
