QUOTE(LD560 @ Jan 21 2009, 02:07 AM) You're right I didnt knowtice the date on it, but still does that mean M3 are changing ther cards then? And if so what bout Sakura?
If you click the link in my last post you'll see that it was already on this thread

They must have started producing the side-loading cards again, but I have yet to see any of them surface. My best guess is that all of the retailers want to get rid of their old stock before selling the new side-loading ones, assuming they've already been shipped by the distributors.

And what exactly is your question about Sakura? Surely you haven't missed all the buzz on this forum about v1.34 these past several days? That's the new Sakura they're referring to on their site.

So I got 36 well..now 37 because of my n00bish posting to read through...sheer awesomeness...lol

New forumite here

just wanted to say thanks for all the info on M3 sakura. Youve given my little ds a whole new lease of life. And good luck to the folks working on the new translation, I wait with bated breath. I dont see how much help I can be, but if volunteers are required for anything sign me up (I have health insurance)

I can confirm that the side loading M3 Real are already on the market. I've seen one already where I live, fresh from the store.

Can you confirm what region the side loader was? If it is English region, then I wonder what's up with the official sakura release? Anyone think the M3 Team is counting on us to crack it again so they don't have to worry about it?

And I had two yesterday from dealextreme.com.

They seem to be a little thinner than the old design (easier to put in and take out of the DS) It has a sprung loaded side sd slot, this is harder to remove from the card as it seems to sit just in from the card edge (need to get a fingernail in to push it) works well, apart from they are bundling the old black micro SD adapter, recent old style have had a blue reader, the box shows one similar to the sandisk micro - but no, you do not get one of these, you get the unreliable black ones. other than that no noticable changes. Took SD card out of the old one and put it in this booted first time!

I wouldn't really call the black ones unreliable. I got one of them from DealExtreme and it hasn't failed me yet. I guess it's just the luck of the draw though.

Do you have any photographs of the cart itself?

I'm afraid I don't have any pics of the cart, the one I saw was not for me but for a friend.

I'll try to take one next time I see him, will keep you informed.

Jumping back about 10/20 posts. So are you guys saying that the M3 Sakura firmware is currently about to work on a Japanese/Asian cart without hacking, but in order for it to work on the EU/USA carts, it has to be hacked?

Close, Liang. The M3 Sakura firmware already works on Japanese carts without hacking, but the fine people here at GBAtemp are in the process of hacking it to work on our EUR/USA carts. Without hacking, it will not work.

Ugh, not again.

I made a typo. Instead of about to work I meant able to work. Sorry about that.

I also have a question. For the video demonstration of v1.34 Japanese on the first post, which v1.34 is that?

I have seen so many v1.34. I currently have the one that Moonlight posted up on his blog and the one from http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html. The one from handheldsources claims to be the 2nd Edition of v1.34. Is this by Moonlight, or is it a hacked/edited version?

For the video demonstration I used the Japanese version of v1.34 (first edition) for Japanese flashcarts, and I downloaded it from handheldsources. They've updated to second edition since I made that video, but the only difference is TouchPod. The first edition uses TouchPod 4.2c, but the second edition uses TouchPod 4.2d. All existing official releases of Sakura are by Moonlight.

This may be a very very very very...... stupid question, but how can I download the translated version of the dual boot system for the m3 sakura. I don't know why, but my m3 real on the top right corner it says m3sakura(why am i saying this)? So all I need is a stupid link. I already download 3 different system folders, and held a while booting but the dualboot thing doesn't happen.

Well Ducky, you don't need to download separate folders, just download this: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=3938 , extract the contents, and copy the contents of the folder inside to your SD card. It should be two or so folders - itouch and SYSTEM I believe. Oh, and something to do with MoonShell, and two other nds files - defaultx and defaulty. Then, when you load up your M3, it will boot into Sakura by default, or you can hold X at boot to load TouchPod or Y at boot to load iTouchDS.

I wonder... where can a person get their hands on a Japanese M3 Real or M3 Sakura? The way things are going, a person would be well-off just getting one as Densetsu3000 has already translated the Japanese text to English. All the games and homebrew should work still... right?

I ordered mine from Clevery, but it's really expensive. It's 5,533 yen and with the current rate of 89.4 yen per US dollar, it comes out to US $61.89 ($76.94 Canadian), and that's just for shipping within Japan. It doesn't even come with the GBA expansion pack. I got mine back when I lived in Japan and the exchange rate was around 124 yen per US dollar, and even then it was about $44. You're probably better off opening your cart and soldering it like cory1492 did.

To tell you the truth though, it's probably not worth the extra cash and risk just for improved/integrated ROM config menus and marginally better homebrew support.
