I'd re-read that Destructoid article.

They seem to be unnecessarily harsh and "something I'd put up my dick" is not a compliment apparently.

It sounds like the kind of divide you'd expect with Starfy: adult men (especially with names like Ashley) will feel like the game is too easy or too cute, so it's boring. Thankfully, especially now more than ever, the install base for the DS is much more varied than just us snarky video game commentators.

Yeah just read it..... they are saying its boring.... when they know no shit, and it seems they only played one level... when were tutuorials ever super fun? I've lost my respect for them saying such rude things even if they don't like the game. If I ever go to the site, it will only be for news not commentary.

I don't think the article will make an impact for two very good reasons:

1. It's during the echo chamber of e3. SO many hands on impressions, trailers, announcements, and news.

and

2. To me, Destructoid is a site that appeals to people who already know about flashcarts and couldn't actually "purchase" this game anyways.

Either way, from what I've played of the Japanese version, the game is miles ahead of Nintendo first party titles like Wario Master of Disguise. It's nice to see a new platform character instead of having a Mario cast member grafted onto a game like Master of Disguise felt like.

And to counteract their views, I would gladly like to stick Starfy in my penis in a good way.

Anyways hope people aren't affected by this impression, since its only one level, and the guys at destructoid probably aren't in the sane of their mind.

Not sure how feasible it would be to release a game of this size on a day when American post offices are closed.

Big releases in America have been coming out on their own day. It's something that's even been adapted by comic books, as Captain America #600 is coming out on a Monday alone so "comic shops can meet demand." So Starfy being available in the US on a Monday isn't weird at all.

One thing I was kind of secretly hoping for with e3 during the Nintendo press conference was them saying "Just like Rhythm Heaven, we have a new game coming out that everyone should experience... look under your seats for a free copy of Starfy!" And then the same person who leaked Rhythm Heaven early could do it again. Maybe Nintendo got wind of RH being leaked so early by doing that and have stopped the free games at conferences stunt.

Or maybe because the audiences didn't have the DSi! "We have a little suprise for you, and (i). Look under your seats for a copy of Nintendo's latest innovation.... the DSi"

The hype for this game in the US isn't really that big, so it will be unlikely that they waste their precious money on this little stints.

If it really is a "major release" then Nintendo really expects a lot of cash huh? Maybe the dream for ports of earlier games won't come true now

Just have to wait for sales results.

Kirby's Squeak Squad also sold pretty well with the amount of advertising they are giving Starfy right now, and that game had a little less PR if only because Starfy is getting the blog and website press for being the first Americanized game in the series.

I'm not much for games that have such a cutesy theme, but this looks like it will be a decent platformer. I'll have to at least give it a go and check it out for myself.

They are expecting high yield. Since they are not producing big 'N' games now, this is probbably their trump card in June.
