I suppose OP is refering to Mario Party? He doesn't indicate what game(s) is(are) having problems, I have Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, Smash 4, all with amiibo support and I haven't to delete anything...

You should refer to this website from Nintendo detailing amiibo compatibility: https://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/compatibility/

Read/Write
Get additional content in your game AND save certain game data to the amiibo figure. One amiibo can only hold save data for one game at a time.*
Read-Only
Get additional content in your game with a compatible amiibo figure.
And the footnote...
*An amiibo can save data for one game at a time, so game data will need to be deleted on an amiibo before it can be used with another game with read/write compatibility.
There's currently only one game using read/write functionality with amiibo and that's Smash Bros., however starting with Mario Party 10 we'll have another game with amiibo read/write functionality. In that case if you have an amiibo that's compatible with both games (e.g. Mario), you can use that amiibo only with ONE of those games at a time. Games that have read-only access to amiibo, e.g. Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors, can always be used with any amiibo no matter if they're currently tied to another game with read/write access, as these games don't have to write data back to the amiibo.

Hope this clears any confusion.

Well that sucks for people who want Mario Party 10, Nintendo should allow to store amiibos data on the game save, that way you don't have to delete your previous data. Since you can register amiibos in Wii U settings wouldn't be any piracy or amiibos ID concerns...

Many things they could do, but if they can instead sell you the same amiibo twice, why not? That's why we're getting different amiibo series. With the launch of Mario Party 10 comes the Super Mario wave of amiibo... That's something I'm not really happy about myself, which is why I'm greatly limiting my amiibo purchases (currently have just 1 anyway).

Yeah, I have 5 amiibos, but I'm not stressed about leveling those up, or customizing them, I just like them as nice figurine pieces. I just hope they doesn't start A Legend of Zelda wave because Zelda Wii U <_<, if that were case they would force my hand in getting more.

I see Nintendo has you in their grasp, firm and tight. ;)

You've got to admit that the new amiibos from the Super Mario Collection do have a much better design than Smash Collection.

I suspect that Zelda 2015 will have some kind of amiibo support but even then I refuse to buy the Link from the Smash Collection as it looks bloody awful.

It does, in pictures. We've yet to see them in the flesh and whether they still look as nice then. Keep in mind that we've seen Mario from the Super Mario wave before in various demonstrations before amiibo became commercial, so they're not new designs. This can be good and bad: the Smash Bros. series amiibo looked great in pictures before release, while the final product looks crappy in general. Link is the ugly duckling of the collection, but I can't say the others look any better. Peach? Sweet lord of the Mushroom Kingdom, whatever happened to Peach? :(

The amiibos don't look quite as good as they could have been but they're selling them for £10.99/$12.99 though if they aimed for £19.99/$21.99 we would've definitely got high quality amiibos like the ones from E3. I'll still have to say that some of them look great, especially Bowser, Kirby, Samus and others.

I just can't forgive Nintendo for ruining my favourite amiibo - Link.

They were stupid for designing Link and many other amiibo to have a pose like that, levitating in the air or having only one foot touch the ground. The supports they had to build to make them durable essentially ruin them. This is the only reason I'm looking forward to the Super Mario wave of amiibo as they have designs with all characters standing still on the base, hopefully without need for ridiculous supports.
