What flashcart do you have?

Supercard have built in feature where you can read .txt files. CycloDS have it too, but currently in BETA stage.
I have Supercard DS-1

I know SCDS1 can read .txt files natively since it's based on Moonshell. Or are you talking about the in-game guide feature? I find the formatting of that feature really really hard to read. due to bad font size and formatting issues.

DSReader is better than ReadMore? What makes it better?

DSReader lets you use fonts from your own computer, has several anti-aliasing options for easier reading, and has a black-background-with-white-text mode which I find much easier on the eyes. If you can get a good configuration for it, it's enjoyable to read. However, you can only scroll one page at a time, and bookmarks only work if the filename has no spaces.

Readmore is alright for a text reader in which you hold the DS sideways, but it's more difficult to use IMO.

is there any known issues/problems with DSReader? i know of the one where it is recommended to create a folder named "dsreader" at the root of the card prior to use, but are there anything else?

also what's a good font to use for easy readability? Arial?

That's my recommendation, yes. If you don't create the folder, it will create it for you, but given the slightly unstable nature of libfat it could potentially corrupt your card (as it did to mine).

My personal setup: Arial, size 10, with subpixel anti-aliasing and a black background. In the subpixel config, use Dark contrast (and change the top and bottom screen settings as needed).

cool, thanks for the recommendation.

where am i supposed to put the font files?

EDIT:

i installed it and put the font file inside the dsreader folder. everything is working great! thanks guys!! =D

white text on black background is much easier on the eyes. i don't think ReadMore has that option so this is great. =)
