I agree with you, on a certain level, however there where silent moments and moments where theyd be like: Uhm, yeah, uh, now minni is supposed to say something.I think there's a happy medium in the editing process. If there's any long gaps, yeah, they should be removed, but the "ums" can't really be edited out easily without the flow of the sentence sounding choppy. I'm pretty sure the "ums" will diminish naturally as the show matures. I too like the unpolished feel of the show and with time the hosts will become more accustomed to each other and things will speed up. Also, re-takes are fine in small doses, but spontaneity is more fun.
Don't get me wrong, a little polish ain't a bad thing, and some people prefer a more polished show. My favorite podcasts however, are fairly stark. Cheap Ass Gamer and Weekly Geek are good examples of good unpolished shows.
Volume levels are a different story. I can't stand it when everyone's voice is at different levels. Compression FTW!
Oh, and yeah, more homebrew, less dogz & poniez.
I'm not sure, but last podcast was about 77 minutes right? thats really to long for a podcast. At least for me.
Also for me, GBAtemp is like the most proffesional nintendo-scene website I know. Although it also is full of great members with humor, the podcast should have that same fine line of quality + humor. I think I would like an podcast best if it would stay under 30 minutes!
Also if you guys need any help in MP3 conversion (like making it a VBR MP3, which gives the best quality with a smaller file size) and other stuff, I am more then happy to help you guys out! Also I have the right technique to get noise out, without killing the sound quality.
In my oppinion I think you guys should take the podcast proffesional, but still with fun in it. I mean, just the way the website is proffesional, with a good sense of humor added in the mix. A podcast should reflect the website its affiliated to!
All of this is what I would like in a podcast, however, this is my oppinion, there are people who like it in a total different way then me.
