Samuel F. "Ted" Dabney, co-founder of Syzygy and Atari alongside Nolan Bushnell, has passed away.

The news came today from a post on Facebook from his close friend and historian Leonard Herman:

"I just learned that my good friend, Ted Dabney, the co-founder of Atari, passed away at the age of 80. RIP good friend. Your legacy will live on a long time!"

While he stayed out of the public eye, Dabney helped develop Computer Space, the world's first commercially produced coin-op video game.

He was given only a few months to live after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer in late 2017 and chose not to seek medical treatment. Ted Dabney died aged 80.

And then it's all becoming history, to be only be read, not told anymore by those who were a part of the beginning.
