I could never tell before whether it was cart or cd/dvd based but looking at that I don't think it's either of them. I think it's all the games built in and that's it jack!

At one point of the video where the dude revealed this piece of metal at the bottom of the Vii, he said "they must have figured the Vii was too light, so they added this piece of metal to add more weight"

That cracked me up so much I fell off the chair
