Team-Xecuter Releases SX OS v1.4

TX Releases Another Update To Their SX OS, with lots of nice improvements in v1.4
txos14.jpg

We have not heard from TX for a while, but don't worry, they back with nice new update to their SX OS, check out v1.4 below:

SX OS v1.4 Announcement
Good day, loyal users!

While we chip away at many different features for SX OS and additions to our SX hardware family we took a break to prepare an update for SX OS with some exciting new functionality and outstanding bug fixes.

Let's have a look at what's new and fixed in this release:
  • Integrated NSP installer
With our last update we introduced the possibility of installing eShop NSP titles. However, this relied on using external tools and wasn't very user friendly. In this release we bring our own integrated NSP installer as part of our menu system. This is the neatest and easiest way of installing NSP titles, enjoy!
  • Integrated homebrew launcher
Launching homebrew used to be done by launching NX HBMenu by holding R when entering the album. While we kept this possibility (mostly for developers), you can now also launch your favorite homebrew directly from our own menu!
  • IR / motion plus issue fixed
A few games (like 1-2-Switch and Resident Evil) were suffering from freezes when enabling the joycon IR camera or motion controls.
  • Allow unsigned NCA
People asked us if we could get rid of the NCA integrity checks, so we did! Custom NCA files, modified NCA files and repackaged NCA files should all work fine now.
  • Display SX OS version in menu
To better distinguish the different versions of SX OS we introduced a small version number display in our menu.
  • LayeredFS fixes for 4.1.0
There were certain issues with 'LayeredFS' for people on firmware 4.1.0. If you use 'LayeredFS' on that specific firmware there's good news for you: these issues have been identified and fixed!
And that's that for this release. We have quite the backlog of feature requests and todo's on our plate, but trust we'll get there!

Should report this to @garyopa since he seems to be their spokesperson. :P

I've not had that issue. Just installed Octodad (plus the update also via NSP), then tested out NXShell after someone complained about that crashing, and had no issues

I see lots of people saying they will convert .xci to .nsp

Are people actually converting the files or just redownloading the .nsp version?

If converting is their any cons to do it and can someone point me in the right direction on how?

Probably redump if to nsp, instead of xci. I like that way better because, I don’t have to launch the gallery......but I’m now realizing that I do have to scroll all the way to the end to select “all software”. Oh well.

Did you exit the SXOS menu or right after the installation complete, you pressed R and launched an homebrew ?

Think I exited the SXOS menu first to test the NSP installed game actually ran. Exited that, then tested a few homebrew apps in SXOS

lol that was the reason i was looking to go with NSP, to have all my games in one place. However was trying to avoid a larger risk of a ban. Hopefully i get banned soon so it makes the choice easier :)

It crashes if you install the NSP's and without exiting SXOS menu you press R to go on homebrew and then launch something.

All IR games work, including Labo.

1-2-Switch eating game works. Labo 1 and 2 works. LA Noire works. 10 Second Run Returns works.

The only non working game left is Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2, which is very clearly an issue with 32gb cartridges; the Switch gives a cartridge read error immediately after mounting the game. Before the system even hits the home screen.

Seeing as the demo of that game works, I suspect the eShop version of the full game would work fine, if we had the title key.

I really like their menu system now. XCI files, NSP installer and Homebrew apps all in one place. You don't have to worry about holding R on the Album to get to homebrew. Now the only thing you have to remember is hold L to get to your actual album :)

So I am pretty much sure we are at 100% compatibility now, all the problem games are reported to be fixed
Does labo work now? It cracks me up imagining people trying to play labo with out any of the cardboard stuff.

Also what's with the first sentence, will we chip away at sxos we took a break to update sxos.
The dumps came with all the templates to make your own so you can pirate cardboard

We are not. The XCI dump of Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2 (the first 32gb cartridge) does not work. The system gives an error immediately upon mounting the dump.

Not an IR issue though. Very clearly a 32gb cart issue. The demo of the game works fine.
