You can't make this shit up. They offered over $6,000 to the RetroNX team to stop all development and pick back up re-branded exclusively under SX OS. A violation of LibRetro's license and illegal. Based @m4xw and @natinusala not falling for TX's tricks!

M4XW is the real deal, does it all for the community.

Im really happy to see such morally aligned individuals contributing to open source projects, even when there is money on the table to be taken.

Lets not forget all the other libretro devs! There's an entire team dedicating their time for our personal enjoyment.

FYI - this is not surprising, TX has tried this many times in the past. Here's one particular episode I was involved in -

I wouldn't really call that a "bribe."
They offered him over $6,000 to make the OpenGL-Enabled builds exclusive to SX OS. How is it not a bribe to offer money to a trusted member of the scene in order to influence them into moving a completely open-source project exclusively onto a closed-source trash software?

It's called a job offer.

I'm not taking sides - I haven't undertaken Switch modding yet, don't know if I will. Don't really care one way or the other about this drama. But there's nothing wrong with being in business to make money. And sometimes that includes acting competitively.

I got explicitly told to stop working on opensource projects.

this is very common to happen in some areas. you work for company A. company B wants you in their team. they make you an offer.
It would also be illegal to violate the license behind Libretro's software, at least, in a first-world country. Hardly a valid excuse in this case. This is a bribe, don't try changing the definition to suit your preferences.
