Really surprised by this game so far. It feels like a console Tales game.

Only thing, does anyone know how to switch targets during battle?

The R button, I'm pretty sure. L switches which character you're controlling, R switches your target. Or the other way around.

For me, R lets me free run (though you're right about L).

Holding R lets you Free Run, but just tapping it switches targets, so you're both right.

I love using Spada.

Every Tales Of character with "Sword Rain" is instantly my favorite.
Luca is also great and Hermana is a combo monster...
You think Hermana is a combo monster?
Ange's normal attack is 2 hits per attack. She can attack 5 times normally. That's 10 hits with just her basic attack, and she pulls them off fast too.
Get her Combo Attack 1 and that's 6 attacks for 12 hits normally.
One of her starting skills is a 9 hit attack so right when you get her she's able to do a 19 hit combo by herself, 21 hits with Combo Attack 1.
Ange is ridiculous.
Also, hilarious.
"This is a bounty from heaven" indeed.

Using Luca, Spada and Ricardo with me controlling Ricardo basically makes me invincible. Luca and Spada go all-out while I stand back and shoot everything. Combos are overrated when I can kill anything in a few seconds

That wont last lol the enemies get harder and smarter and controlling the healer or switching to the healer and back to the attacker becomes essential in some situations

Eh, you'd be surprised. I set up my priority strategies so everyone uses any recovery item and in emergencies Ricardo is a great healer if I leave him to the CPU. My whole party is level 37 and I've been doing rank 7 guild quests, and my strategy still works amazingly well. Even the last few bosses, such as Hasta, went down faster than I was hoping them to

this is my first Tales Of game, and I must admit that it's very unique. Don't let it's age fool you, it's a lot more polished than most newer games. Lots of customization, and battles are like fighting games! Loving it.

I thought the Dog Guy was easy...

Well easy enough not to die from. I beat him 1st try but he was my 1st challenging fight. I tried targeting a dog 1st.
Also I noticed that skills go up in level, I disabled some of their auto's so my party members could only use skills I wanted them to.

I think I used Spada, Ange, and Ricardo as my team, Ange as the leader. My strategy was guarding and not giving them chances to attack back if possible. Ange was great with multi-hits.

Emulation is the way to go for so many reasons NES get rid of flicker by turning off the sprite per line limit. Cheats? Ken Batocera is your friend almost every console has cheats in it
