QUOTEcould I uninstall it just by running waninkoko's "IOS Downgrader" (the IOS one, not the cIOS). Il is supposed to reinstall 3.2 ios to make trucha disc run...

you'll need to use both, cause cIOS changes the IOS30, and the IOS do the others, but hence none of them touches the ios9, I really do recomend an upgrade thru the Wii Settings, and then use the Dynamic Duo (cIOS + IOS Downgraders)...!!!

Coders Working on the Region Issue should examine this:

Just talked with IronMask and he pointed me to this Menu Patcher Application that was recommended to him by Crediar. It's based off starfall and Menu Loader clone codes. Menu Loader was the patcher that I was successfully able to get to load and functioin properly when loaded ahead of system menu. The magic combination was Starfall/MenuLoader/System Menu --> Region Free Disc Channel at boot. The source code is also included in the package.

I think this might be exactly what you need.

Wait, so if I have starfall, on a 3.2SM, and I use this patcher, all the games I load from then on would be region free?

region free from disc channel was always possible with wanin's original menupatcher. we are aiming for a way to autoboot with preloader and region free while still ensuring we can still fix any system menu bricks easily and without the need for bootdvds or gamecube controllers. (or at least that is my goal)

A side effect of the patching all these cIOS and enabling the boot from the disc menu, is that a game I previously had to force to PAL60 (because of red screen) using the backup loader, now boots the correct colour straight from the disc menu.

One thing that should be taken into account is that Menu Patcher is a permanent system mod, so it only has to be run once. It doesn't do Rebooter or MenuPatcher kind of temporary patching, or atleast that is what I have come to understand from it.

I quit this thread at around page 60, has anything interesting happened since then, or any progress?

If you quit the thread then your not that intetested. Read or find something else to look at.

The only things ive really looked at in the last week are CIOSCORP and Preloader v.25

Well i was interested, and i was posting from page 1-60, but then we apprently hit a wall with the region free playing, and well..that was it.

Let me just clarify as to the only currently known way to boot into system menu recognizing both regions, without patching the system menu after it has loaded. Also note this is not a viable method for everyday use obviousely but it does demonstrate that is it possible. Here is the process/proof that i was able to accomplish it with. The key is system menu only loads once as the last thing to load.

Requirements. System Menu 3.2/Starfall/Gamecube Controller

1. Use GC Controller to boot starfall into recovery mode to autoboot Twilight Princess
2. Execute TP Hack
3. Executes Menu Loader (Marcan/Bushing code) as boot.dol from root of SD
4. Manually Input Patch Options
5. Choose Launch loads System Menu recognizing both Regions.

Would be nice if starfall could just load boot.dol from SD instead on loading from the DVD drive. Preloader can do this except preloader breaks the Menu Loader.

You can also just use waninkoko's menu patcher dol or channel without preloader, but you still have to load it everytime you turn on the wii. missed the part about after the system loaded.

Menu loader if used with preloader cause a loop, because menu loader reboot the Wii, so everytime you hit A for load the menu, preloader gets in action and sends you to Menu Loader settings

ok, i have 0 interest in having a region free wii, i just want my disc channrl to work without using a menu launcher, whats the best, CIOSCORP + STARFALL?

disc channel working, simplest is to use the rebooters. if you want it enabled just for your region everytime your system comes on just install the cioscorp.
if you want the highest level of protection and your region booting from disc channel, install preloader and cioscorp.
using preloader prevents use of the rebooter and all out of region games must be run through gamma or softchip normally.

Yep and try to install first the patches in Starfall, then you reboot, and then install the CIOSCORP package, remember cIOS30 would be the last one to get installed...!!!

holdon....one second here. I installed cioscorp a while back, but what would happen if I accidentaly pressed b on gamma loader and launched the rebooter...what would happen?

can anyone compile preloader to use 00000010000064 instaed of 00000010000042 or what ever 3.2 menu was, then i twill work on 3.4. its works now but corupts the menu because it installs to wrong location. I had to load hbc channel throught it and downgrade, i never had a 3.4 system menu.wad for 3.4. all is good again though. I would love to get 3.4 workingwith this
