So I'm using this guide to get CFW and stuff but I'm really confused on Step 4 because I'm not sure how SysNAND or Emunand work, and what they even are. Could someone elaborate? Am I supposed to unlink my nands?

You really shouldn't be modding if you don't understand

I'll elaborate for you though, sysnand is what the 3ds ships with, emunand is an emulated version of it, anything you do in sysnand is mirrored in emunand unless you unlink them, this can be done by after installing emunand, removing sd card and formating the 3ds in the system settings. This way everything you do in emunand will now be separate, this is ideal and how most people have set up as if you do something in emunand it won't effect the 3ds nand, it also allows you to experiment with emunand and not fuck up your 3ds in the process

Kek indeed
