I have the following error. When I eject my sd put some nsp install them and then I shut down switch remove sd put it on PC add more nsp and re insert the sd then the installed won't start and I get an error has occurred. When I install nsp then I can not remove the SD?

I had this issue, it was because I had errors on my SD Card.

CHKDSK fixed them but then corrupted some games, and even redownloading them would have them corrupted again.

Only way to have everything fine again was to format it, and reinstall everything, then it was and it still is fine.

Now every time before I'm ejecting my SD Card from my PC, I do a chkdsk before putting it back into the Switch, to fix errors in case there are. So far so good though, no error.
Otherwise the Switch will always says an error has occurred.

File system; full format? When I installed new nsp they worked but only those recent I installed. When I try new one the old were corrupted.

The sx os manual says to remove any orignal carts before using the loader. The loader is emulating carts, so if I want to play an original cart, how do I eject the current game? I looked in the album, but didn't see anyway to unmount. Do I just put the original in and it automatically does it? or do you have to come out of sx os?

Does anyone on here use CDNSP Bob 3.5.7 for there nsp files, i got banned because my console connected to my home network so i cant use the eshop to redownload my games and tried to use the nsp file i got from cdnsp (12.3mb file was all i was givin) and install it with the sx os 1.4 nsp installer for 1-2-switch and it doesnt show up in my library. and when i try using nxshop to install it instead it now comes up blank and i cant seem to fix it.

I don't think SX OS supports virtual unmounting yet. Rebooting seems to be the only solution that I know of.

I had a problem starting bayonetta 2 and splatoon 2 said some error message for the slot any ideas anyone? using sx pro docked everything else works good even homebrew docked i am using a SF30 Pro joystick paired in docked mode pretty cool setup.

Im having an issue with games i previously had bought on the eshop. i had previously downloaded and played Pinball FX 3 before running SX OS on my switch. i then deleted all eshop games off my switch to make backing up my NAND go faster (not sure if that actually helped, just made sense at the time) so i found a .nsp of pinball fx3 and installed it via DevMenu. when i go to the home screen and try to play it i get this message that says "you must have this software in order to play". has anyone else had this issue?

@CloudLionHeart did you figure out what is the problem , I am having the exact situation keep getting "The Software Was Closed Because An Error Ocurred"

Anyone have some intermittent crashing issues using the dock? My switch is docked most of the time - when I play mario kart or hello neighbor, there are times when the system will just go to sleep by itself (very rarely but it does happen). Do I have a faulty dock? or is this common with sx pro.

Getting a random hard freezeup on my switch when in sx mode. Happens in both .xci backups and my physical game cards. I cant seem to reproduce it as it just happens randomly, but always at a loading screen. Has happened in Mario Kart, Kirby and Mario + rabbids so far. A simple power down (holding power button) and then reloading sx works just fine.

First gen Switch, 5.1 running sx 1.4. Retail 128gb sandisk sd card (purchased instore from bestbuy) formatted ExFat.

I've just tested this on SX OS 1.4, OFW 4.1.0 using Little Nightmares XCI (updated via NSP) and Mario Odyssey REAL (no updates).

  1. If a real cartridge is present, SX OS will ask you to eject it when you click an XCI.
  2. If you insert a real cartridge, the fake one is automatically dismounted.

Use Tinfoil to install it.

The base game NSP I got for 1-2 Switch is well over 1 gb.
I tried downloading ONLY the update without the base game, it was 12.8mb, which is pretty close to what you got, so I'm gonna say you have the checkbox ticked for downloading the update only, or update+dlc, WITHOUT the base game.

I have SXOS, and have been using it for the past couple of weeks but this morning when I injected the payload it straight up refuses to boot in to SXOS CFW and it just gets stuck at the Nintendo switch logo. I am able to boot in to Hekate and OFW just fine. I have tried downloading a new boot.dat but nothing changed. I do not have a second sd card to check if the sd card is at fault however as I am able to boot hekate/sx menu from it I assume its not the issue?

Edit: Seems to have fixed its self after several hard resets?

Last edited by heyoo,
I got random crashes (two alone whithin 10 hours, one yesterday and one today):

When accessing the album in SX OS, I got a black screen and I can't do anyhing, no button works. The only thing that helps is pressing the power button for about 10 seconds and i see that the console shuts off completely (the black sceen changes to a complete black sceen - if that makes any sense to you). Now I have to bring the jig and dongle again and start it up like usual.

Thought this info might be useful.

Was having trouble with some XCI files throwing "the game card could not be read" errors. Tried copying, recopying and following all the suggestions in the first post to no avail.

Then I thought I'd try swapping the one thing that I hadn't - my card reader. I know my phone supports exFAT so I popped it in the SD slot, booted it up, plugged it into my PC (running Linux Mint) and copied everything across.

Every single XCI that was throwing an error now works. So just a tip if you're having the same issues and using a cheap card reader - that might be the problem.

Quick question: I can use the .xci (keeping same region of course) in place of a retail cart, and it SHOULD be able to use the existing game save files from the retail cart version right?
