Hi, i'd like to know if the ftp app for the homebrew menu allows to delete and move xci files from a PC.
This way I won't have to power off the console everytime I want to change games on my microSD.

FTPD should work but its very slow, obviously. Not nearly recommended for transferring games. Maybe small homebrew apps.
And if I'm not mistaken FTPD works only in one direction. PC to Switch maybe. But not Switch to PC, so also not useful for transferring and editing savegames.

There is also a payload that lets you mount the Switch as SD-Reader via USB-C. But you need to launch a separate payload for that, meaning a reboot with dongle. Also not very fast.

We really need a mount sd homebrew so we can do it via usb, it should be faster. Now the terga smash gui give you optoon to mount sd but you need to turn it off and speed are quite slow (5mb/s)

At this point, I'd rather reboot my Switch to put files onto the SD card. FTPd constantly crashes and has so many issues. If you really need FTP without turning it off and on, TomGER has made it to where Hekate can run with FTP in the background.

I have been using a modified version of FTPd and it specifically has not crashed once.

There’s a variety of build going around and it tends to get confusing to keep track.

This is the post with the link to the version that works wonders, for me at least, and using sx os 1.3:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/ftp-application.506434/page-5#post-8095478

There is also this version too:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/ftp-application.506434/page-6#post-8122693

I’m unsure what the differences are Between both of these builds as I haven’t used the latter, so if anyone has any info about it..

Good luck!

Used those versions and every other one I've found on this forum. Crashes within 20 seconds of transfers. Every. Single. Time. Unless I'm transferring one small file at a time, then it's just tedious work.

Something is up then. Cuz it doesn’t crash for me. Perhaps an sd card issue?

What is your OS version? I updated mine to 5.1.0 and using SX OS 1.3. The ftpd builds keep looping error within a few seconds of running.

FW is 5.1.0
SX OS is 1.3
Using this verion of FTPd
SD card is Samsung EVO Plus 256GB
Formatted with exFAT using windows 10 on VMWare Fusion on a MacBook Pro
Maybe this is it... After copying files to the card, select ALL contents at once, right click, properties, advance, uncheck archiving files and folders.

Wireless FTP is too slow for transferring those huge games. I use a USB-C to USB-C cable for sending payload, I think if there's a FTP app that can use USB-C connection, the transfer rate will be blazingly fast.

Once TX have usb hard drive support.. if they do mange it.. then all these as cars issues will disappear!! For me anyway as I always use the switch docked so can quite happily plug in a nice new 4TB I have waiting just for this

Man I'd be so happy if there was a way to transfer games fast, even through a cable rather than Wi-Fi. I'd essentially never have to power down the Switch and run through RCM. I imagine someone will do it relatively soon, there's big demand for fast transfer speeds and it'd no doubt be handy to people themselves who thinker with homebrew etc.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.

I live maybe 3 minutes from a Dairy Queen, so I would just go there for ice cream anything anyways. I usually get the Oreo Blizzard, or a Peanut Buster Parfait.
