Hacking Switch unban?!

Interesting...

I’d like to see the arguements on the video being a hoax as much as I want to see it’s true.

How would you fake this, exactly?

Start an unbanned Switch that is already connected to the proxy?

EDIT: I mean, I looked at the video and I don't speak spanish at all. But I never see him edit anything. Why would it magiclly be unbanned because he goes through the proxy software?

I fail to see how anyone could think this has anything to do with banning or unbanning. If you watch the video, you clearly see what is going on even without speaking Spanish.
Look at his error code - 2811-5001. That is not ban-related, that is due to network connectivity problems.
Connectivity problems that he created himself by putting a proxy that probably causes this very error in the first place and then he just removes the proxy and it works again. Wow, magic.
I wonder how anyone can fall for this.

Possibly by putting a cert on the proxy redirect. Not actually unbanning so much as using an intermediate communication much as how PCs had been used to use certs to connect, and then using another cert.

The hell are you talking about? The error code he gets is 2124-4508. Google tells me that is in fact the ban code.
Check your eyes.

I don't speak spanish either, but it looks like:
1. Goes to e-shop, gets ban message
2. Enters custom proxy, reboots console
3. Lets console stay on home screen with proxy for a while, and background connections go through the proxy to verify something (probably a ccertificate) in some way, it appears in that window to the left.
4. Tries to enter e-shop, does not get ban message anymore, but proxy doesn't work with official connections (probably since he spoofs hacky shit)
5. Removes proxy again, without rebooting, now that his cert spoof or whatever was recognized
6. Enters e-shop successfully

However, he doesn't edit anything on the proxy during the session. I still think it's a simple bait and switch (pun intended)

This is YouTube. Most of the viewer are damn stupid on YouTube. Same as Facebook.

Definitely a way to gain some views for him, should rename the video to "How to correct a DNS error".
DNS errors don't get you a 2124-4508 ban message.

Seriously, what is wrong with you people?

I really doubt there's ever going to be a real way to unban your console, but these responses are just embarrassing.

oops u rite

That dude is by no means an "scammer". He does some good youtube videos about hacking (Switch, PS4, etc).

With that said, in that video he wasnt clear at all. He said stuff like "so we need this thing to get that other thing and request some stuff from Nintendo, after that we would get other stuff for the thing". So he wasnt clear at all.

Again, he is a good youtuber for the spanish speaking community, so i wouldnt belive he is trying to scam or something, but i would take this with a grain of salt.

Guys i do speak spanish , and i've been following retro videos for a while now , And he is not lying ; but let me explain what he is doing ; and someone correct me if im wrong .
He is taken the token of an unban Switch and getting permission , this valid token works for 24 hours .
So is not an unban for life , after those 24 hours you will have to do the same , and of course i will need to borrow someones cert/token or whatever from an unban Switch .
This will allow for you to :
Enter the eshop
get firmware updates
get game updates

And its has not been tested for online gaming .

Except the tokens were recently updated to include console specific info and won't work with other certs. What he did was using an banned cert, mitm the SSL connection and then replace the cert for a unbanned one on the fly.

So he's using the proxy to get a valid token onto his Switch and then once the Switch has the token it's good until it expires. That actually does make sense since the Switch has a command to request cached token and it only goes and gets a fresh one if the cached one is expired: https://reswitched.github.io/SwIPC/ifaces.html#nn::nim::detail::IShopServiceManager(1)

What he is doing is intercepting the consoles communications with Nintendo servers and this calls and requests happen in the very start of the console... Meaning you can intercept the requests with a computer a program I forgot the name... And this will send a different token to the Switch which it will grant access to eShop and Nintendo services... Such as updates... The token last 24 hours and obviously after that you will be greeted with the ban message..

This honestly could be beginning of something real. As far as I know Blawar is involved in this project somehow...

Don't discard it just yet... Wait and see. If this works in an automated way then we will probably get a stable unbanning process in the future.

Why should I do a fake video?

Do you know who I am?

So shut up to say stupid things. The video is real, and recorded in live. If you own a cert, not banned, and you've got a switch banned, then you're ready to try and you're ready to burn your unbanned cert.

I didn't show any step by step because many people with too much hype will use it to do a test and they will ban their certs. As the video shows it is a proof of concept.

Can you unban your switch? Yes. ( During 24 hours, and then renewing token again )
Should you try this method? No, because the cert will be banned in one day, or a couple.

The explanation of this is very easy, it is just knowledge comprehension. It you're not ready to understand, then you can keep on talking about the Big Bang.

Cheers.
