I personally use and would recommend the sigpatches by iTotalJustice (google for his GitHub, I can't post links yet), those are clearly split into two lets say "scenarios": one file entitled "fusee" is if you boot Atmosphere directly with fusee-primary, the other entitled "hekate" is for when you boot Atmosphere with fusee-secondary through hekate.

If you keep a clean nand, either one you use with atmosphere or a separate one, then update via nintendo. Otherwise you'll need to find an nsp or nsz online to update with.

Can you please explain what you mean about clean nand? I don't plan on doing anything else with the CFW but play ANCH and make treasure islands for my main. So I can connect to the internet and just update ANCH?

If you install any nsps that dont come from the eshop (including homebrew nsps) then your nand is dirty. If you dont install any nsps then youre generally safe to go online. Thats an oversimplification, but thats the basic idea. Cfw itself is safe, as long as you dont do things like install titles.

Ah so since this is my first time using CFW and have not installed any pirated games etc. I can just go online and update ANCH?

Yep, as long as you havent installed any titles to the home screen (or modified your account icon, since that also gets flagged) you should be fine to go online. Someone else might be able to provide a more exact list of exactly what does/doesnt lead to bans than what ive given, I generally dont care about that stuff.

Okay thanks! Yeah I only need the cfw for the ACNH save file so I can edit it, I dont need mods or games etc. Ty!

Only with airplane mode on....see below.....Do you mean like this?

It's like this but I have the DNS settings changed for both wired and wireless internet connections.

I used the AIO Atmos Update app to download 12.0.0.zip,... Just dont know if it's ok to install it yet, lol

**AND I let Awoo update my sigpatches, not sure where they get theirs from but I haven't had any issues with games playing other than asking for updates that I can't help but assume they mean Switch updates to the OFW.
So are you saying you have already downloaded the firmware 12.0 onto your console? If so, that explains the update prompt you are seeing on the games.

I'm saying I used the All-In-One Switch Updater to download the firmware not, download and install.

That is precisely the problem though. Because you downloaded the firmware, the Switch is aware there is a firmware update which is causing the update prompt to show up.

I want to finally move onto Atmosphere after only using SXOS for so long now. alot of my already installed games are XCIs i installed onto the system. would i have to redownload the NSP to use with atmosphere since it doesn't recovnise XCI i believe? also would i get better retroarch compatiblity with atmosphere even if my SD card is still NTFS format? it used to crash alot on SXOS not sure if its the format or sxos or both.

The thing about atmosphere not working with XCIs only applies to *mounting* XCIs, not to ones installed to the console as a title. And the switch cant even read NTFS cards so no, you wouldnt get good compatibility on an NTFS sd card.

ok thats good i was worried id have to redownload everything :) and what do you mean it cant read NTFS how is my current card working?

CFW (emuMMC) is a custom boot option, it could do one of a million different things depending on how you configured hekate. Id need to know
1. What is in your hekate_ipl.ini
2. What firmware youre on
3. What atmosphere and hekate versions youre on
I'm using all the files provided by sdsetup's Recommended Defaults. So
1. The contents of bootloader/hekate_ipl.ini are
Code:
[config]
autoboot=0
autoboot_list=0
autohosoff=1
autonogc=1
backlight=100
bootwait=3
updater2p=0

[CFW (sysMMC)]
emummc_force_disable=1
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp

[CFW (emuMMC)]
emummcforce=1
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp

[Stock]
emummc_force_disable=1
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
icon=bootloader/res/icon_switch.bmp
stock=1

[Fusee]
icon=bootloader/res/icon_payload.bmp
payload=bootloader/payloads/fusee-primary.bin
2. My OFW is 4.1.0 straight out of the box, never updated or connected to the Internet
3. I use the latest; Hekate v5.5.5 and Atmosphere v0.19.1

You know what, nvm anyway dude. You're not trying to help me at all. You asked me was My switch on wifi,... I gave you the answer with additional pertinent info, and All I wanted to know was, WHEN is it safe to update the OFW to 12.0.0??

These games have been prompting me about software updates before I ever Manually download that zip file.

If you can help it, BE helpful, NOT critical.

Does the fusee option also give you a black screen on boot? If it does then id try deleting your atmosphere and hekate and getting everything directly from the official source

You're never going to get the help you want with that kind of attitude. There are reasons I ask the questions I do because its very obvious I know more than you do and am trying to prevent future issues. But hey, if your console bricks or black screens, I guess won't help you.
