They are both ExFat.

Would formatting to Fat32 make a difference? Also if I do that, I couldn't copy files larger than 4 GB right?

odd... might be corruption.. try as fat32

Correct, however we have ways around the 4gb single file limit (usb install, network install)

yep maybe is a corruption of the sd card. Give it a try. As adran mentioned every single file inside the sd card is < 4gb so you can copy them.

What format is the old card vs new card?
The 128 card is exFat, the 64 one is exFat as well now, but I'm not sure if it was when I used it in the Switch since I've swapped the card to a different device now. Would formatting to Fat32 work? Then I can't copy files larger than 4 GB right?

Edit: sorry, 2 replies. Will try to make it Fat32 now.

again try as fat32, and we have ways around the filesize limit

ok can i get banned if i backup my nand, and if so what do it do to not get banned?
If you are asking if you can get banned for making a backup of your NAND, it depends on what tool you are using. If you are using Hekate, you most likely would never get banned as Hekate is loaded in RCM which is before the NAND is triggered so it should be undetectable. If you are using a homebrew application like the ReiNX toolkit, then you risk a ban since you need to run homebrew in order to do so which can get logged in the NAND and translate into a ban later down the road.

I have bought a 128 gb micro sd, and im wondering which format is the best to run backup games, exFat or Fat32...any help? Ty in advance!

One more question. Can I keep playing my legit bought eshop games? Or do I need to install them again via an nsp file? I can't open them, it tells me to download them.

Hello. I was thinking of booting l’alla on my switch but I heard about a battery desync problem. Is that still a issue? I don’t wanna screw up my switch, so I’m trying to be extra safe here.

Thanks guys, formatting to Fat 32 worked! I can now boot into CFW again. Now how do i get files larger than 4 Gb on there?
if you mean your games. Then use usb installer.

Sorry my iPad hates my guts. I meant lakka. Oh and while I’m at it, someone said Linux can’t get you banned? Is that true? I don’t care that much about online play but hey if I can have Linux and online that would be kinda cool.

My switch is in the "XAW1007900X and above not safe to buy, possibly patched range" Do actually some switch from that range are unpatched?
