Can someone point me to a tutorial/guide on how to update the SNES/NES/GB etc apps on a hacked switch?

If you're talking about Nintendo Switch Online apps, you update them by installing update NSP files. If you have a clean sysNAND (and using emuNAND for all the "fun stuff") you can get the latest versions straight from the eShop, but you'll need to have an active NSO subscription in order to use them. Otherwise, if you're trying to update pirated copies, there are update files somewhere on the Internet (we aren't allowed to post links to those websites due to anti-piracy rule here). You can install those files the usual way, TinWoo Installer and DBI are recommended installers.

Hey! I'm running in to an issue when trying to Backup/Migrate to new SD Card on Hekate, where it can't find the partition when trying to backup after turning SD partition "ON". Looks like other Mac users are experiencing this due to unwanted files that Mac creates. I tried using the "FIX RAW" option as recommended, but it is greyed out? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

If it's greyed out you do not have an emuMMC partition. "Unwanted Files" and archive flag issues should only affect the FAT partition. Are you sure you're not using a file-based emuMMC? What does Hekate show if you open the partitioner?

I’m curious. Why do some nro get put in a folder and some just go into the switch folder? Can they all just be in the switch folder? Obviously if no other files are needed for it to run like tinfoil I know needs to be in a folder.

Hi! I'm new in this community, and I'm having some issues with Atmosphere. When I connect the Switch (19.0.1) to the PC to inject the payload my pc recognize the switch without any problem, and I'am able to start Hekate (6.2.2). But when I enter Atmosphere the switch disconects itself from the pc and from that moment on I cannot use dbi installer or any similar application. Anybody knows a solution?

to be fair, atmosphere saves a file to automatic backups with your full serial number as the file name, so...

one would have to check if atmosphere correctly saves the backup even when the serial is physically blanked out in prodinfo, and not just hidden with exosphere. it's probably not how dbi does it, but atmosphere does leave obvious traces in sd card that can be checked by anyone who wants to check it

it doesn't actually matter, you could move the nro out of the folders if you wanted to. but nro in a folder hides the folder from view in hbmenu and shows only the app

Sadly, I can't really help you with the issue as I have no experience with restoring backups, but I'd suggest that you create a separate thread on the Switch forum so that your post doesn't get buried up here instead.


Disable auto sleep in TV mode? Check your TV settings as well since Switch should be awake if you set the auto sleep to Never.

I haven't been able to find a program to extract raw contents and repack them as-is, everything always wipes title key and replaces with standard crypto

but if you dont care about that, you could extract everything as raw nca with nscbuilder, delete the ncas for the base game, and then repack only the update ncas into a nsp

otherwise you can install the xci with an installer that will also install the update, and then dump the update from your console. that should maintain the correct ticket and title key encryption. unless you use dbi, then installing will replace the legit ticket in the update with a fake ticket

RESOLVED: This issue was caused by the target Switch not being set as the primary console. This triggered a flag on my user account, which resulted in the error even despite Nintendo servers being blocked. Resolved by changing the target switch to my primary console and rebuilding emuMMC.

No matter what I do, I get error 2123-0011 whenever I try to launch any of my downloaded content in emu. I've got the hosts file in atmosphere. I've got the stratosphere ini. I've got the latest sigpatches. But I just can't get it to work.

Any ideas?

I just set up a 2nd sd card and booted into OFW on sys and turned automatic cloud saving off. Hopefully that works, but I don't think it will... This seems like an error being caused by some kind of authentication service.

Certainly possible, though I'm not sure how with the hosts file and exosphere.ini set up correctly. Additionally, 90DNS also shows blocked on all its tests.

I'm unable to boot into my emumcc after making a change using Linkalho. I changed from having it linked to not having the accounts linked. After it wants to reboot. Upon reboot I get the Atmosphere screen for a second and then a black screen. Is there any way to recover or do I have to start over?

Updated: I reinstalled atmosphere and moved to just using sys-patch and it’s all working again.

Did a new emummc. However, the error did Come back when I opened the Tesla overlay. Could it be that Tesla makes the error?

Did restore emummc, but the problem still there. However, when using windows-computer and viewing hiddens file on the sd-card, multiple .-files are visible. It seems that mac did something during the transfer.

Anyone got any solution to the 2002-3502 (0x1b5c02) error?

Got this error after migrating to larger sd-card (256 -> 512) using the Rentry guide (partition based). Before the migration, it worked flawless. The Switch crashes after undocking, sometimes after rebooting to Hekate and also when trying to enter Tesla Layout. The crash gives the 2002-3502 (0x1b5c02) 0100000000001000 error.
The games I´ve tested seems to work.

The sd-card was bought from a legit store. I was using a mac-computer when the migration was perfomed. Tried using "Fix Archive Bit" with no success.

CFW: 18.1.0
Atmosphere: 1.8.0
Hekate: 6.2.2
Sys-patch: 1.5.5
Sig-patches: Latest from the thread.
sd-card fat32 format

Any ideas?

default.txt loads whenever you run CFW - in sys and emu. emummc.txt only loads when running CFW on emuMMC, in case you want to go online with sysCFW (not advisable unless you know what you're doing)

Only if you want to run CFW on your sys. This is where people who don't know what they're doing get banned, so I would recommend against it.

https://switch.hacks.guide/ is the last full guide, but while it will explain general setup and options, it will not explain how to enable your device for piracy. Because that's the reason the reentry guide isn't there anymore.
