Hacking Switch Informations by serial number - READ THE FIRST POST before asking questions

Just bought a switch on 7.0 with a serial code of xaj1007515xx and should be working; but whenever i try to send a payload i'm met with a black screen, despite getting a payload sent notification, have my sd card formatted to Fat32 and using a usb c to c cable; anyone know what might be happening?

Serials beginning with XAJ1:
XAJ1002000X and below are safe to buy
XAJ1002100X and above not safe to buy, possibly patched
XAJ1003000X and above definitely patched

Should NOT be working, you mean. It's supposed to be patched with such a high serial. But you can still check to make sure, with the test linked in the third question of the FAQ on the first post. Don't get your hopes up.

Edit: Oh, I see you made a mistake with XAJ and XAW. Yes, you should be ok, but my advice still stands. Check to see if you get the results of an unpatched Switch. If it's good, you should see a bunch of keys on your Switch screen. If your PC says it's good, but you don't see anything on the Switch, try another cable.

Just used biskey dump and found out my xaw1007515xx has a 0x00000 byte setup; so dont know if the switch numbers listed are correct

I understand that I need to buy an "unpatched" switch. but do i also need find a lower FW like 3.0.0? Does it matter what FW to use or are there benefits to have a lower FW? I would like to know because FW 3.0.0 Switch cost a premium on eBay.

No, you only need an unpatched Switch. Firmware doesn't matter anymore, or at least not that much. There are some unlreased hacks that only work on 4.1.0 or lower, but I wouldn't bother with it right now.

The numbers are as correct as they can be. We hadn't found a Switch below XAW10078XXX that was patched, so that was the assumed border. You got unlucky. I updated the OP with the new border.

Ok I've verified if my switch is hackable using TegraRcm GUI and fortunately it is, but I'm on FW 7.0.0 so I have to wait sigpatches right?

first of all make a backup and yea have to wait for patches
people can downgrade their switch but you would have needed a nand backup from previous fw version i think (dont know downgrading too well)

Thanks, spent a few hours trouble shooting confused as hell and now i know what's happening, gonna try to sell the switch instead of waiting for patched switch support
