Guys I need to know. Planning to buy a switch from someone they say that they got it 2 months ago what's the possibility of it being patch. Also what's the main serial should I look out for mainly London area.

Fusée Gelée works: N/A BUT I tried a poorly built paperclip jig, APX got detected, tried to send a payload and nothing happened. I later added the APX driver because it didn't completely install. After this my paper clip wouldn't boot into RCM mode anymore.

Going to wait till my jig from ebay comes, hopefully soon and do proper testing.

If it was really bought 2 months ago, it's 100% safe for you to buy. There was no patched unit back then.

I see the OP says

But I know that there's sometime an overlapping period, and I don't see a lot of people buying this version.

XAW1006 is safe to buy. Overlapping is in the 1008 range, that's where you must be careful.

Alright guys, I'm another one of the 1008's that aren't patched. I seem to fall in line with the range of 1008's on the first post.
After trying to get into RCM with paper clips, wires, tin foil and none of them working, I used the metal bar from a pin button and cut off the pointy end and it worked lol

XAW1006 is safe to buy. Overlapping is in the 1008 range, that's where you must be careful.

I have one that is XAW7001576xxxx. I bought it a month and a half ago but starts with a "7" instead of "1"? I am confused, that sounds way higher than anything anyone is reporting here. Any thoughts?

If you bought it a month and a half ago it shouldn't be one of the patched ones. The 7 that it starts with is just the assembly line that it's from. You can see what the letters and numbers mean in the first post.
