Where do you think I must buy the switch in US? I'm afraid that the switch in Amazon comes with 4.0.1 :/

It depends on your need. You have homebrew and some games to play at 3.0.0 for the time being, and wait less than >3.0.0 for CFW. If you can wait a year for CFW then there was cheaper like $299.99 deal on Walmart which you gets $30 gift card.

$390 for a 1.0 firmware is this a good deal ??
I have mine since launch day and just want to mess around with CFW when it comes out.

Well I went for it ... I'll have plenty of fun with the emulators that are coming out a little bit fast... It was 292 taxes included in a pawn shop ... Console was sealed.... I don't mind waiting for a cfw. It will be a pain to find a 3.0.0 console in one year or you would have to pay outrageous prices like in eBay ! Just go and check those confirmed 3.0.0 or lower prices.

So, I just bought xaw100307 it came on firmware 3.02
the chart on page 1 would've indicated it should be 3.01
this difference doesn't matter, and at most stores I went to the serial numbers made me think they'd be on 4.0 so I'm reasonably satisfied I found something still on 3.02, slightly disappointed I couldn't find anything on 3.0.0 but I honestly doubt there are any left in my city because well toys r us was the place where I got my old 3dsxl and where I got this switch (target/bestbuy/walmart all had much higher numbers like xaw1005x or even xaw4009x)

Check firmware on box, compare where it sits in the listed ranges for firmwares. The values in the OP seem to cover single firmwares about 70% of the tine, guaranteeing you get that firmware. The other 30% sit between two firmwares.

Unless you want to play games that require 3.0.0/use the HBL or already own Pokkén, there's no reason to update.

Updated to 3.0.1, mandatory to play Mario Odyssey because the update was on the cartridge itself, and it's the only game I want to play, almost all the others I could want I already have on Wii U. The other consoles on sale were at least 3.0.2 but their serials were not listed here, so they could have an even higher firmware.
100% Mario Odyssey will take a while anyway, and I can always get Mario & Rabbids which seems fun while I wait for the inevitable cfw.

We're lucky here in Portugal, there are a lot of Nintendo Switch on sale, some still months old and since there are not many buyers (I've read about 20k Switch sold here) I even bought it on sale 50€ off the regular 329€ price.

According to the outdated OP, it could be either 1.0.0 or 2.1.0. You'd have to sift through this thread or the google doc to get a more accurate estimate (honestly I'd like to go through and summarize it since there are still gaps, and new data coming in all the time, and/or graph the probabilities so it's nicer to see at a glance for each of the 6 series of serials what means what)
