https://gbatemp.net/threads/a-defin...atched-or-not-purchases-after-07-2018.512018/Would it be a good idea to try and hack it, to see if it is hackable ?
If, so can you point me to the guide.
Thanks.
"XAW1007800X and below are safe to buy" You didn't even have to ask. BUY IT! What are you waiting for?!Anyone know if the XAW1005 Switches can be hacked?
Yes, of course, yours is unpatched. 100762 is below 100780. Simple arithmetic, right? Nice idea to invest in a NS Atmosphere payload injector. I got one from aliexpress and it works flawlessly. You won't regret it.so many numbers so confusing i believe mine is mod able it came with firmware 4.1 and the serial matches the range of "XAW100572 - XAW100940" i think but am not quite sure can someone verify it for me? here is the beginning of the serial, witch i am almost certain is valid for fusee. i had one b4 that worked but i ruined the right rail with a paperclip. this time if its a go then i will definitely invest in the white payload injector for atmosphere, that comes with a jig attached to the unit.
XAW100762????????
I realize i could just try to run fusee and if it failed to load the payload then i would know. but this way its more reassuring as maybe, someday the patched ones will be mod able 2. i have high hopes. so expecting good news.... thanks a bunch

You don't need to hold VOL+ and POWER for three seconds. Just tapping the power button while holding VOL+ is enough to enter RCM. TegraRcmGUI should display a green "RCM OK" when you plug your Switch (in RCM) to your PC with the USB C cable. If it doesn't happen that way, then it might be a cable incompatibility problem, or wrong USB port, or your Switch is just off, not in RCM. If you don't have a jig yet, if I were you, I would avoid dodgy methods like tinfoil or paperclip. You risk damaging your console. If you're positive the Switch is unpatched, just wait until your jig comes in the mail. No rush. In the meantime you just download the games you're interested in, so you'll be ready.Guys, I need your help because I think I might be just too stupid...
I just bought a Switch (SN: XAJ700254XXXXX), so it shouldn't be a patched one and it got the 6.2 firmware on it.
I'm trying to inject the payload via TegraRCM on PC for the time being.
Somehow I'm unable to go into RCM. I tried the JoyCon tinfoil thing and the paper clip. When I press VOL+ and POWER for about 3 seconds the screen stays black (as it should).
But as soon as I plug in the USB-C cable the charging symbol appears after a few seconds and the console is booting normally and doesn't stay in RCM.
I don't own a jig or a loader yet but I'm planning on getting one of course.
What am I doing wrong?

good idea but it was a rental so i exchanged it for this 1.... quick help note for people looking for lower serial number modable switches...... if you dont mind renting to own both units i got from "rac" came modable. i know the first 1 worked cause i did it in the early days of homebrew using a paperclip. BAD IDEA in my experiance as it made the pin connecions to loose aftera while to make contact with the joycon so it never registered when in hand held mode or made connection sounds when attatching it and removing it from the switch. i honestly can say I am fearful of a jig doing the same over time. the besty part about the rental is itas insured and they end up swapping it out for another new one np after you show joycon no longer syncs. just dont chime in about the pins as they have no clue and vaula new low serial 4.1 firmware "new" as in contract. as they have used ones to for less but with the insurance the cost is resonable.... espescially if the patched unmodable ones are being rolled out. who knows when they will only be renting those. P.S. I hope you kept your Switch with the ruined rail. It's certainly replaceable (the rail) for cheap, and you'll have two hackable Switches in your hands.
