Yeah, they've certainly learned a lesson from the 3ds scene.
Maybe it's just due to incompatible firmware on other components? Or a checksum for the system partition like on Android, when it's modified you'll get an either not booting system or a warning you have to agree to.

It's still too early to tell

Hello my GBA friends :)

Short question, my switch is since 3.3.2017 without any update, even not the day 1 update, what do you think, should i do it now? or should i leave it.
Im not sure if later perhaps there will be any exploit but i could not do it without the day 1 update.

Thanks for your support.

Thanks in advance,

All I hope is that the Webkit quicky move to a EmuNand so we are save to update. But if the EmuNand would update System Component Firmware it might get issues =/ with a EmuNand.

Probably update since you have no way of actually exploiting the Switch. There's no browser on 1.0 from what I know.

Can't wait for some user friendly homebrewing for this console! Looking forward to some emulators that I can play anywhere on a decent sized screen. Can't wait! Also, Epic, your profile pic is adorable.

You can't just "throw a virus" at something, whatever that means. For the record, a virus is just a program, just like anything else on a computer. And to answer your question, they reverse engineer the code of the switch.

Not literally what I meant. I was wondering if they would exploit the Switch the same way they would the Wii U or actually dissect right into the system.

@Cyan Would be nice if you wouldn't edit a random post from someone else, instead tell me next time to add it.

Added a FAQ section now, if you want me to add something there tell me :)
