I have a Switch thats on 3.0 I don't want to update for obvious reasons but I am going overseas and want to play it on the plane. Does anyone know what new games won't require an update?

Every New game says it needs an update. MK8dx and Zelda should Work if you block the updates via DNS. I was also able to use splatoon2 in 3.0.0

I blocked these URLs in my router. Is this enough to block all updates for the Nintendo Switch as well?

Seriously, though, anything "useful" coming in the near future is probably about 99% likely to require 3.0.0 or below

I don't think you have a choice now as the alternative is 3.0.2.

Until there's a way to update to a specific version, you should stay on 2.3.0 for now. No info on whether or not the homebrew will be available for any Switch with <3.0 firmware.

There are pros to having 3.0.0 such as HID controller compatibility. You can do a cart update via Pokken.

but with it being this early in the switch scene, its much more likely to be a tool for developers or a somewhat gimmicky POC rather than something an average user would actively want to use and go through all the trouble of modifying their switch for.

Sorry if this is unrelated, but could it be possible that Nintendo goes through the code of games from 3rd Party Developers to check for possible exploits that could lead to Homebrew Entrypoints?

Hold up, you need to elaborate on this. You mean the switch can read controller input from controllers like Logitech?

PS3 3.55 CFW can play higher FW games

But if your PS3 is above 3.55, you're SOL, same will happen with Switch unless hard mods can be installed, so yeah, that doesn't do people on higher FW any good. And I sure as hell don't have $300 for a spare console
