Hardware Switch boots fine but freezes on a WHITE SCREEN when trying to load a game

I bought a used Switch that boots to menus fine but freezes on a white screen when trying to load a game, any ideas?

any game? have you tried a digital game as well as a game from a game card? also, does it do the same when is under stress? perhaps check other apps? - it could be the game card daughter board if is only from game cards or it could be overheating issue if it happens under stress.

does it ever recover after it freezes?
