I don't use my Switch for any pirated games only to backup my saves which I once lost 400 hour in Animal crossing because of. I got banned but I am not sure when as I don't play online NSO.

Contacted Nintendo but they asked to call which I can't do as I don't have a US number and even then I can't speak. They are not in my country officially so I can't get help.

Do they have an email for contacting? I think it could be a ban due to 2nd hand game which I bought but can't be sure as they are not answering in chat only gave me a reference number and said to call.

Grateful for any help. Thank you.

I suspect that using homebrew apps also triggers a ban.
I had CFW with only PPlay installed to use my Switch as a videoplayer.
That also got me banned.

2nd hand games should not result in a ban because those games are signed correctly and thus legit.

I was using homebrew apps such as JKSV to back up my saves since 2022 so I doubt it can cause bans as I was also able to go online in 2025.

And I read on Reddit and here that people got banned for 2nd hand games as some other people made copies for flash cart before them but Nintendo unbanned them as it's not their fault.

You CAN get banned if your second hand game was previously dumped and used in a MIG cart. In that case you'd need to contact Nintendo customer support to provide proof of purchase and then they should unban you.

I want to give them the proof but they don't give me any email address.

Also as I mention I can't literally speak as I have a disability.

Iirc console bans only ever get lifted in incredibly rare cases, so you sadly might be out of luck here. Though I do hope that you manage to get it unbanned.

Only people who can help you is Nintendo. They can ban you for homebrew of they see fit but only they will know the reason why your banned.

You'll have to ask someone to speak on your behalf in this case if even to only ask for an email contact. Best of luck 🤞

They don't owe you an explanation.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Regardless of what type of homebrew it is, they can all get you banned. They keep logs of everything you do in your system and sometimes they may trigger a ban later than you'd expect.

As for contacts, depends on the region of your eshop account, if you're using an American account, this is the support page:

https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/contact

It has live-chat.

They told other people so why not me?

Yes, I live chat with them where they gave reference number said to call which I can't. Which is why I am looking for their email.

Most likely you get banned for using homebrew. Even if you didn't use it to play pirated games, it still is a reason for Nintendo to ban Switches. Sometimes, it doesn't happen until much much later, Nintendo seems to be working in ban waves. So even if you could contact them, chances are very slim they will unban you.

Nintendo US doesn't have email support though. You can try reaching out to the UK, as they should also have all information available to them. ([email protected])

Contrary to popular belief, if you were banned because someone dumped a game, sold it, and then decided to play online with it, people have reported that Nintendo will reverse the ban once you prove that you are the person who owns the real copy.

You'll either need someone to speak for you, or some text to speech application to help you communicate.

Are people still going with the claim that Nintendo unbans you if you show proof? It was one guy that claimed this on reddit without showing any proof or interactions with Nintendo.

This claim is simply wrong and not true at all

I don't see why they would lie. Do you have any proof they did? If not it's just your word against theirs and I'm not inclined to believe your word over theirs just because you said it's not true.

Yea, it was most likely the used game then. As long as you have proof of purchase (ebay-amazon listing etc.) they will trace it and un ban right away. If you dont?... it also possible but much more difficult.
Yes... getting them on the line and to the right dept is going to be a major challenge no matter what. They always assume guilt, so they treat people who have this issue like crap over the phone and online. Plenty of peeps just give up and buy a new one. At least thats what ive heard.

Can confirm. They wasted a LOT of my time and were very rude when I got mine unbanned for this reason.
