After launching on PC earlier this year, Chernobylite, the survival horror RPG set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone from developer The Farm 51, launches today on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For the occasion, a brand-new console launch trailer was released:

Traverse the toxic woodlands as Igor journeys into the dangerous remains of the Chernobyl reactor. Craft unique weapons, survival gear, and a home base from abandoned scraps to take refuge from the harsh environment. Form alliances with other explorers, ration food supplies, and join forces to take on the unknown. Fight against hostile military, genetically mutated monsters, and deadly radiation throughout a hyper-realistic nearly one-to-one 3D scan of the real Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.

Today's press release also notes that the console release isn't the end of the line for Chernobylite as over the next 14 months, 6 DLCs are planned to be released (including paid and free content). Each DLC will introduce a mix of new content like new missions, monsters, weapons and game modes.

Chernobylite is available digitally on console storefronts for $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99. A physical version is also available for PS4 as of today in North America and as from October 1 throughout Europe. This physical retail edition features a detailed digital map of the Exclusion Zone, digital postcards, a digital poster, and a digital artbook, ‘The Art of Chernobylite’.

I thought this was a lite version of STALKER.

Strange mix of action, storytelling, crafting and stealth game with improving our own "hub". They should stick to action and story like in Metro.

Started playing it the other day and it’s actually pretty neat. Not AAA by any means and definitely not a S.T.A.L.K.E.R or Metro substitute despite a similar setting, but the survival mechanics are nice. Expect an official review coming soon!
