As of right now, Service Pack 2 of EOS 1.0, the Supercard DSOne/SDOnei OS, has undergone testing phase. It namely contains the fix for the Pokemon games.

However, it can only be obtained by applying to be a tester, and for that... you'd have to speak Chinese.

Still, it's good to know it's on the way, right?

EDIT: According to Searinox, SP2 makes the freezing problems even worse. Don't get it and wait for an official fix from Supercard or a patch. @_@

Well from what I read on the 1st post the team wants people with slow memory cards to test them (7MB/s and under if I didn't read it wrong)

I just updated to EOS SP1, I think I'll hang around and wait for the testing results to come out haha.

Edit: More reading on the SC forum...

EOS SP2 will fix the problem with HG/SS, confirmed.

Don't think ya need to know Chinese. Just copy the didl.dldi, ds1patch.dat and userpatch.dat over the ones in the current fw.

EDIT: Can't get it working. Black screen and purple text with a window.

EDIT2: Keep the SCFW.SC of the current firmware and copy only the folder over the existing one. It works.

EDIT3: That won't work. Freezes on loading ROM.

Probably works fine on Chinese SC but I can't get it working on the English one not even through file transplant tricks.

How do I get this OS working? 1. Replacing the current OS with this results in a messed up unusable system. 2. Replacing everything except scfw.sc results in an OS that works but can't boot ROMs.

I deleted everything and put t only the new files and only see a black screen, think is theme problem because one day I tried changing themes and entered something wrong and ended up with the same result.. :\

Well, I'll try better tomorrow..

Because the OS itself didn't work, I copied only ds1patch.dat over the old one. This is the file that's supposed to contain game fixes. Going in and out of buildings 30 times froze HG.

Something that works, loads the game, etc:

Just copy the ds1patch.dat to your old SC firmware directory. Don't use any of the new files from this other than that one. This is what is used to patch games that don't work, so this MIGHT work. There are other .dat files that were changed which we might want to check out if it DOESN'T work.

Since I haven't played Pokemon yet I am not far enough to test if it crashes, maybe someone here can?

Check my post above, this is exactly what I did and it didn't work. And yes I WAS running in patch mode.

You never said you had the game loaded.

I have the game loaded fine using the method I laid out which was JUST replacing the nds1patch.dat.

Are you using a save with lots of badges?

I have no badges at the moment, I simply replaced ds1patch with the one from the beta and started going in and out of a house for 4 minutes and the screen went black.

I noticed it's for the english one short while ago because the folder said "eng", however problems remain.

1. Deleting the current OS and copying the SP2 beta in its place results in a non-boot.
2. Replacing all the files except the boot file SCFW.SC makes it work but it freezes on loading games.
3. Replacing only ds1patch.dat, supposedly the patch database, does not fix Pokemon.

you can download the save with 13badge, it can have 50+event , it worked? right? we are still woking on it. i can tell you is that the problem is about the reading way of the card. we have to rewrtitter the I/O again. i'm still woking on it. trust me.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha

@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
